Finally.... Lastt service, changed air filter, changed spark plug and changed EO, pumped esso5000, and now my fc is up, 32km/l... Not too bad... but this month a bit hectic keep dashing about, so look to improve again, and RT as well, so hopefully cut weight :p

How i wish i was riding a phantom 200. But too bad... Im riding 150, eat oil like nobody business!

Can we swap bikes? I miss the 2 stroke's ability to go 140kph from Changi to Tuas :D

Back on topic:

I got a bottle of Sonax Octane Booster free so instead of pumping V-Power every time I used Shell 95 and added octane booster (which will boost the RON rating a few points).

Result was super shiok, even more smoothness and acceleration was "incredible" even past 100kph. This is an octane booster which contains things like friction reducers that claim to improve valve lubrication.

Works. But only if you know what an octane booster does, and how to use it. As my engine is knock-limited the octane booster improved performance a lot.

However, for long term use, I rather stick to V-Power. The cost of the additives outweigh the economy of Shell 95.

However these days, unless I want to chase people's Super Fours like I used to do last year, I'm happy with the cruising performance of Shell 95. Typical commuting speed in-traffic is about 70kph every morning and evening, after all.

Oil prices going up - you can save a lot by using lower octane fuel. (up to 30 cents a litre)

Lol must borrow someone's 150 to try.

But the fc is really terrible.

Btw what difference between 92/95/98 ?

Tried vpower, 95, 98. Seems that the power & performance the same.. Never really take note the FC.

At constant highway speeds I know a way to tune 2 strokes for 30+km/l. One Aprilia RS using similar method even gets 39km/l :3

All depends on the usage of the bike. As for the petrol, 2 stroke won't have much difference with fuel type as the compression ratio for 2 stroke engines are usually lower (due to the engine design). Some additives in the more expensive petrol are advertised to reduce friction (for valves?). Of course, in a 2 stroke, the lubrication is supplied by 2T mixture anyway so the difference is minimal.

On a Phantom 200 I just finished one tank of 95 (no octane booster) and then changed to Vpower. Whoa, whole world of difference. Can cruise in traffic at 10% power, super quiet engine.

Shell petrol does seem to enable any engine to cruise at a certain speed but with slightly lower RPM. Saves a little bit of fuel in the long run.

No leh, haven't tried that...

Recently changed EO, Air Filter, Spark Plug, checked Brake pads and tires.. and voila, fc back to 35km/l... happyy.y.....

Just pass my 2B today! Took out the Phantom to meet d sun after lying in d basement for 2 weeks.

Pump up full tank w Shell 95. I guess I won't know my mileage as I m gonna be an irregular n short distance rider.

Then took it over to P motor to change a set of tyres, front brake pad, rear brake light connector, some kind of tensioner, EO change.

Overall experience..... Comfortable ride. I like d bassy boom from d pipe :)

Grats on your 2b~ Join in the ah pek bike fun xD

Always been pumping Esso 98. Esso gives me the most mileage, but then I would get V power if there's a shell nearby my area =X

V power makes my engine more quiet at high speed, and also better pick up~ (Hail for 2 b bike. little things like this can be so significant ~ )

Adventure.

V power is that good? Must try next full thank. I usually use Shell Fuel Save 95 and i get 32-38km per full tank. Still got 200km to go before filling up. Congrats on your passing Harry.

You will get 32-33km per litre if you do short distances. You may not be able to use gear6 often on 50km roads.

What bike you riding? TA200 definitely have 6th gear. More useful for expressway and touring at 80-100kmh

Thanks Greg. Have used V-power for my car and can certainly feel the difference. btw, thinking of letting go of my phantom now as I have just book a PGO TR3 (3-wheelers) :p

Just pumped 8 over litres of shell V power. Was using shell fuelsave 95 so a little mixture from the reserve tank. Power wise, I could not tell the difference however the engine runs smoother. Dont think it is worth the extra $2-$3 difference. Will go back to fuelsave 95 after this tank.

hello, yeap most honda bikes got 6 gears... can't say all, but phantom definitely.... =)

In case your next question is at what speed go up to 6th, its really up to you, normally i enter 6th after 80.

Wah you ride quite hard. For relax riding I change up to 6 gear after 60. Unless traffic condition forces me to rev higher for immediate torque response. No wonder that day you say your fuel consumption high.

Honda Phatom TA200 BROQUET User Review

Hey man, think my review is long overdue.

Been taking readings for a while and based on average, broquet has helped me increase my fuel efficiency by 10km/l (TA200). In addition, it really does make the bike run smoother. I know this because I had my tank painted about a month after I got my broquet and they swapped my tank with another ta200 tank they had. Rode with it for 1 week and could really feel the difference. Thanks for the good stuff. Happy to get good FC again.

an update on my fc. after cleaning my air filter. from 31 goes to 36km/l. damn significant. dunno y but this time round, the interval between each pump was shorter. with in 3 days i went to pump 6 litres plus. normally one week pump once. maybe less evaporation of petrol?
