Serious problem need u people's help

I say if you are confirming engaging a lawyer, bring your lawyer there and made your demand with him as a witness.

 

To me there is a clear breach of trust on the shop, they know that the previous rider has bad history and yet sell you that bike. On top of that, claim wil renew road tax on your behalf and yet not done.....just pushing the limit of fraud.

 

I say this shop should be black marked and punish to the fullest extend of the law

ive decided to take up their offer of terminating my 2 year installment with the finance company, i dont hav the time or desire to pursue this matter ( i know i should) but my thinking is that the faster i get out of the grasp of these cheating scums the better i'll feel. Right now, i'm trying to make sure that they indeed cancelled my contract with the finance company, if not then i shall report this to the police as fraud as i have the receipt for my bike being given back to the shop. Thanks for all your advice.

Dude, you are not in any trouble..... THEY are. And it doesn't take up much time on your part to bring them down. I'd say the least you should get back is your downpayment and installments you've paid. Anything less becomes a boon for the shop. DON'T let that happen. Fleece them for anything extra since its a private settlement. If they don't agree then sue the hell. They know they have much more to lose if they get involved in a court case.

ya.. imagine if u dun teach them a lesson, wat if somebody else kena the same shiet as u... the very least u shd get back wat u hav paid them, or had them transfer another bike of same value to u..

peeps i got a problem on my hands, i bought my bike last year from a shop in ubi ( after realising the i had been scamed in my lta fees).

 

About in november i went back to renew my road tax but the shop say they will do for me just pass them the money so i did so. Not long after, they said they would post me the road tax disc. After i didnt receive it, i took the advice from my fren that since no need to display road tax as tp if check can check thru system, i continued riding till May when i tried to renew my road tax for this year.

 

They told me that i had no road tax since november 06! apparently got some probs with my iu unit and therefore the road tax application rejected so had to go for a veh inspection( which i did in nov 06 when i paid them money to renew road tax). They said no prob settle for me everything just leave my bike there, already pissed but since they say they pay the fines and everything i left my bike there. Returned 4 days later to collect my bike, found out that my full tank petrol kenna siphoned off, so i went to complain and got some money for it.

 

If that was the last of my probs then good, but thats where it gets worst. I called LTA to check on my road tax as i was suspicious in the shop's dodgy dealings and found out that it HAD NOT been renewed. I called the shop and demanded a explanation and they had the cheek to say renew already confirm processed, which made me do a wild goose chase between lta and the shop finding out what happened. Until i made a complaint and got thru to a IO who called and told me to just leave the bike at the shop and demand a refund as

a) The transfer of ownership from previous owner has not been done

b) road tax expiry of more than 6 months.

c) some various other issues with the shop.

From what he said, my bike's road tax cannot be renewed.

 

So i need some advice. what's the next step that i can take.

Also if i just left my bike at the shop, how do i settle my financial obligation towards the 3 year installment plan with a finance company with 1 year almost finished.

So much complications, if i could just leave my bike with them and tear that contract and demanded some compensation, things would look much better than now.

If they con you one time, what makes you think they won't do it again.....

 

If you really decide to settle.... make sure you check everything twice to make sure that you are no longer involved.....

When i got my first bike some time back i encountered a similar problem too, transfer or name not done, road tax couldnt be renewed... all these problems. in the end they told me it was a repossesed bike. So have to go through troubles to get the transfer done and renew road tax too...
