Heh. Know how cars like to edge their way into your lane so bikers just "automatically" give way to them?

No way.

Cab tried that on me. Moving off from junction, i'm on L2, he on L3. Slow car ahead of him. So he edges into my lane on my left. I hold my ground. He tries to edge in closer. I just held my ground and accelerate, forcing him to slow down, signal and move in behind me.

Really... if he had signalled earlier, I'd have given way to him. What's with trying to force your way into my lane? Any closer and I would have horned him or knock his mirror/window with my knuckles.

actually we bikers also guilty of that le.. haha.. but i noticed alot of cars are WILLING to give way if u signal ur intention earlier.

I believe its time that they do something about inconsiderate cyclist and pedestrians.

totally!

never stop him and teach him how to cycle and check for veh . . :cheeky:

couldn't.. I was on the way to a customers' place..furthermore this guy ain't worth my time..

Hmm todays a nice outing with my gf but certainly not on the roads.

While just cruising by the road, a group of 4 bikes in a way was jeering at me by riding beside me and looking then suddenly accelerating off.

My gf was irritated by the 2 strokers and the last bike which was a RVF rev so close and fast past us. i was mad  what were they trying to do ??crazy ppl.

Nex when we were going back home, at CTE tunnel, i was travelling between 80 to 90km and this crazy toyota Vios just whoosh past me at 45 degrees cutting past me so near to my headlights till i need to flash my lights at him to show my anger  what was that vehicle trying to do at 4am in the morning when the road is so clear.

I really want to give these ppl a piece of my mind.

he was practicing his Apex and you were in his way?

yea many taxis do that to my phantom too but they just can't :p but its kinda dangerous because we speed up and follow the car ahead much closer :giddy:

Today at bedok I witnessed an interesting sight.

I was riding down on the right most lane. A P-plate sp was on the lane left to me, slightly in front. Came to a traffic light, the light turned amber so i promptly stopped. The sp was slower cos there was a car in front of him. The car in front of him wooshed off as he was closer to the light. The sp slowed down and stopped, before the white line.

The next moment, Krambo.... a beemer behind him kissed the sp's arse. Needless to say, the beemer had a nice "mod" done to his bumper. Had to reverse a bit to get the sp unstuck.

1st thing he came out, looked at the damage and asked the rider y he wanted to go and then stopped. Light turned green so off i went.. but decided to help out so made a u-turn back to the spot, parked my bike and walked over to the guys.

The beemer driver called a friend over and what the friend said made me uncomfortable...... He also commented y the rider stopped. It was amber light, y shouldn't he stop? Next he started to look at the damage on the bike. Upon seeing the P-plate he asked why the plate was placed obscurly. Obviously it had nothing to do with the issue on hand and he was trying to bull-sh|t his way out. That was something which disgusted me.... C'mon, everyone was once a p-plate, y make it sound like a sin to be a p-plater?

Then he promptly asked for the rider's particulars. but at the same time did not show any signs of wanting to provide his, until i requested so. All this time i was just quietly watching by the side, talking to the guy before the beemer driver and his friend came over.

Of course he then asked me to identify myself. So i just told him i was the on the other lane and had witnessed everything. That made him have a sudden change in attitude. Gone was the arrogance...

Interesting was, while he was not the driver (he was driving another car), he offered to pay the rider for the damages after he got a quotation. The driver was actually quite young...and looked pretty much confused at this point in time. Which made me wonder if the driver had issues with his licence. I doubt he owns the beemer as well but thats not for me to judge.

Anyway i offered to be the rider's witness if the need arises for an insurance claim. Left him my namecard and went off.

Hope my story not too long ah...... let it be a warning to all new riders.... know what to do in an accident. Don't let the other party intimidate you into doing the wrong things.

Tomolo go buy 4D.... :cheeky:

Today at about 5.45p.m, i just left my house and was riding along yio chu kang road going to turn to Hougang.there are 2 right turn lanes and both were purely meant for right turning only.i was on the right lane of the two and there was a lorry on my left.so the green arrow came on and we moved.just as i was about to turn the F****** lorry cut into the lane i was in and he would have gotten me good.i braked hard and skidded and even though i tried my best to stop and gain control, the back of the blue lorry hit the front of my bike and i fell.and the worst part is that he just went on as though nothing happened.i jumped off and was too stunned.i picked up my bike and just got on and started and moved off.i didnt manage to catch him.Karma is going to get that F****** *******.my head fairing suffered scratches while the balancer of my handle bar and the clutch lever got some scratches.what if i didnt brake.the case could have been much worse!

Hi Bros...

Sorry man...

Was just strolling the past stories and saw this incident...

Since this is considered as 'hit-and-run', and if we got the number plate of the lorry, what should we do? Report police?

What the chances of claiming insurance from the other parties etc...? Low, i presumed??

Any bros here can share their knowledge/expertise on this ? :)

if you observed those drivers behind those speeding lorries, they are more like indian nationals. i bet they floor the accelerator everytime the lorry moves. wonder how they got their licence...

and lorries on the expressway for a normal 4 axle to those

and where are the TPs... i travel almost the full length of PIE and AYE daily. but i rarely see TPs doing their job of ensuring those vehicles stay within their speed limit.

c'est la vie~

Just thought that i should help out since i was just beside him. After all, when i had an accident 2 years back there were many pple at a nearby bus-stop who helped me, one also offered to be a witness for me. Was glad to be of help.

But seriously, all new riders/drivers should make an effort to know what to do in the event of an accident. Write down on piece of paper put in wallet or bike. It will come in handy when you get involved in one and kanan kabot.

Good on ya! :thumb:

That is good advice there. Most people will go into a state of shock and not know what to do when they are involved in an accident for the first time.

arcfire: good job :thumb: detest those drivers who try to shift the blame..but in this case if he kisses me and say all these arrogant words..I'll make sure I get a first hand 2a bike from him for TAILGATING and not keeping a safe distance ;)

what you give is what you get

Posted

It is Traffic Police understanding that as long as vehicle A bang vehicle B from behind, vehicle A is at fault for tailgating and not keeping a safe distance. Exceptions would be when vehicle B suddenly swerve onto vehicle A's path or vehicle B reversed and bang vehicle A's front. Damn! I read also I get :giddy: ...

Today nearly died on the road, when a car coming out of the carpark didn't give way to me when I turned into the carpark from the main road... Just manage to siam his bonnet by 1/2 a meter.

Car was coming head on at a 45 degree, driver looking sideways...

Now still shaking...
