1. starting of the mth so wanna hit quota den mid and end mth can relax abit

2. rmb a minister commented abt the roads on his facebook while his wife was driving? heard that the tp got pressurised from the higher ups

Oooo... Now I remember. So that's why. Very likely the case.

Saw 2 tp bikes today also on sle and kje. I dun recall previous months got so happening. Maybe e "pressure" is true.

@WAItforme. Agreed. Usually when a car in front of me signal, as long as i am not right behind beside e car, i will ease off throttle and monitor. Braking hard is a bad idea since sometimes we dun ve a lot of time to check backside. Yes i check backside first before doing brakings most of e time regardless of riding/driving.

Y i am upset by non signals is it is again my opinion only tat commonly associates with road users who doesnt check their mirrors or blindspot properly. Basically we r taught to check mirror/blindspot, signal, check again and go isnt it? So it is like almost 2nd nature.

Also i find it a issue becoz if e road user did check mirror/blindspot but no signal. How am i suppose to noe and slow down to give way? By e time i noe tat e road user is going to change lane, i would ve started scolding becoz in my eyes, he/she crossed e lane marking suddenly as there wasnt any indication tat he/she wans to change lane thus to me it would seem like a sudden dangerous action. Makes sense?

sadly again my opinion, some road users think tat by turning on their signal, other road users will in fact spd up so as not to give way which is y some of them do not signal. :/

Totally agreed with the signal thingy.. Sometimes, I purposely speed up because I know they are changing lane but their car's "behaviour" and they didn't signal.. :p

Should always signal.. even as biker, I saw you signal.. I'll overtake you more safety leaving more space for you to come into my lane.. however, if you didn't even bother to signal.. this will just p*** me off.. because I have to jam brake, overtake you from the lane that you just come from.. this endanger me/the driver into accident..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

warning... it has been reported recently that there are many instances of vehicles on the road with faulty signal lights that refuse to be turned on by the drivers' hands because they are glued to the steering wheel... XD

Took bus today. Travelling on 2lane 2 way road. There were 2 cars parked and blocking the route of the bus. Of course the bus would swerve into the opposite lane to carry on the journey. Suddenly one of the parked cars decided to move out to make a u-turn. Bus had to sudden brake to avoid collision. Obviously car driver did not check before pulling off such a stunt. I am sure if the bus was a bike sure collide already taking into consideration it needs a longer braking distance. A vid I found showing whatever it is we are always at the losing end. Not for the faint hearted.

hi ppl , maybe i am slow ,but i wanna say

sometimes when we are jus crusing on the road ,and then a car suddenly cut to our lane..

how sure are we that the car never signal and jus cut in ? even if they did signal and cut in , do we get angry ?

cause i also see bike doing that . speed up signal and cut in . hence that set me thinking .

at which point do we get angry ?

I can tell you about which point I get angry at.

1) Car cuts sharply into my lane, no signal, not checking his mirror or just not caring.

Makes me angry because it's not just rude, it's dangerous.

2) Car signals and immediately moves into my lane expecting me to give way.

Doesn't make me terribly angry, because it's not very dangerous, it's just very rude.

3) Car signals and immediately moves into my lane expecting me to give way then hits the brakes because they are too close to the car in front.

Makes me a little angry because it's not only rude, but f-ing stupid. Same applies to bikers. If you change lanes and immediately need to hit brakes you are a bad rider / driver.

4) Car moves into my lane giving me enough space then accelerates away.

Good for him, maybe he is in a hurry.

1)-3) followed by the driver apologizing = Immediately not angry. :) It's so rare for drivers to apologize on Singapore roads that I'm usually in shock after I see someone apologize. Even if it did put me in danger, mistakes happen, I make mistakes too and I always try to apologize.

Just my opinion but we need to rethink this statement "reckless riders only kill themselves" or cause danger to themselves.

I think many of us would ve encounter before riders doing stunts causing us to ve to react by braking or taking evasive actions. Things like cutting into ur lane etc. Not to mention a rider can cause a driver to react to avoid e reckless rider causing ham to e vehicle on e lane which e driver evade to and e reckless rider may not even noticed or suffer from it.

I had this uneasy feeling about this statement before but only now able to put into words. Hope tat others agree and thus not promote tat reckless riders r just in their own bubble not affecting others. It i my opinion tat as long as u r on e road, it is not just about urself. :/

i understand your point, but may i point out that i use the word 'generally', and i mentioned that it does not vindicate reckless riding. my point was simply that whether i ride or drive, generally it is reckless drivers more than reckless riders that force me to take evasive/defensive actions. and it is totally not a rider vs driver thing, because like i said, even when i drive i am more p]ssed off by drivers.

generally riding is more dangerous for a motorist than driving. that statement is true, even though a safety conscious rider is safer on his bike than a reckless driver.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

1) The police very fast come. Under 4minutes, nice...

2) Not sure if the rider was intentionally "racing", but if yes then rider has himself to blame...

Not sure who mentioned it, but basically just targeting the statement "reckless riders only harm themselves". Agree tat usually is cars more danger to us although I ve my share of riders causing danger to me. =X But yes, cars more... 1 of the reasons y is cars more is becoz on the road, riders r faster + lane split so we will encounter more number of cars. ^^

We're not a ton worth of metal, roughly 3 meters by 4 meters. Nuff said. By numbers alone, there are more drivers on the road, hence, there are more stupid drivers on the road. Really stupid and idiotic. So I can safely come to the conclusion, there are more stupid drivers than stupid riders. Ride safe, you'll never know which idiot will pull some dumb stunt like something as simple as not checking blindspot.

Drivers need to learn to anticipate changing of lanes before the exit, not 50m from the exit then stop in the lane, just to change lane.

yup not checking blind spot , nor do they check their rear mirrors as often.

so cannot stay at cars blind spot .

and i hate their other doing and that is :" oh that lane is faster, i think i am faster then that lane spilting bike .

anyway my turn to rant : yesterday while going to a friends place, this mercs at PIE towards changi , suddenly jus stop at the tampines exit, cause he overshot . and got horn the hell out of the sunny behind , with me closing in , the fellow was in 2 minds to go straight or turn into tampines exit..

second, while going pass cgh , after giving way to this FJR who sped off, jsu in front of an uncontrolled junction a runner did a right turn jsu like that . the thing is the FJR was in the blind spot of the runner because on the left of the FJR is the SBS bus.. . i cant imagine if the FJR collide with the runner jus like that ,

I think I might know which junction you are referring to. I always maintain a slow speed and left finger ready at horn when passing by there as there is also a school nearby.

Agreed. Both rider and driver population has their own black sheeps. I just hope tat e white sheeps dun try and "wack" e other side's white sheeps.

Basically we always complain about taxis but in my opinion not all taxi drivers r bad or "kill" to pick up passagers. same for riders. Same for drivers.

Slowed down because had a feeling the taxi in front will change lane. True enough the signal and turning at the same time move was executed.

Again sorry for wasting anyone's time with these boring videos. Watch it or not its your choice.

actually, whether i'm riding or driving, i 'see' more screwed-up drivers than riders all the time.

but not because there are less numbers of screwed-up riders than drivers. more because generally reckless riders endanger only themselves while screwed-up drivers endanger those around them. hence i 'see' more screwed-up drivers than riders since the riders dont usually force me to take evasive/defensive actions, be it on bike or car.

this doesnt vindicate reckless riders, merely a statement of fact.

I agree on that..most of the time drivers are more screw up..only few type of bikers piss others off..
