Reminds me of this incident at PIE turning into CTE (towards AMK). After the flyover there, the road to enter CTE only has 2 lanes and lots of times it's a long jam there (i seriously think the flyover's design isn't done well). I was driving wife's car. Then came along this white sports car (don't know what brand) driving along "shoulder" on the right (there's this space leading to the chevron markings in front). Meaning the car's not in the queue of other cars.

So I just follow right into the lane leading to CTE (left lane goes to Braddell Road). If I filter in further from the front, it's definitely cut queue and there's a whole stretch of cars going into this lane. So the white sports car kept horn-ing and horn-ing at me (he wants to go to Braddell Rd i assume) and when he finally overtook,

He paused, open up the door, raised his middle finger up in the sky, closed door and speed off. Furthermore it was a heavily raining day. It's a clear, narrow "me, myself and I" attitude that has spawned since the last time the courtesy campaign existed.

These drivers are living in their own world. They think the roads belong to their grandfather. Their middle finger gesture shows their maturity is at baboon level, which ignorance level is no matched with civilised human beings.

I had one case, engine shut off by itself, so I pushed it to the side, it was raining heavily, then this car decides to come up behind and blare its horns, I gave it a look, ignore and proceeded to rectify the problem. Car still horning, I gave the driver the finger for being a moron, he finally got enough brain cells to change lane, when he was beside, he gave me the finger.

It was a someone of North Indian descent driving a Civic. If the bike had started, I'd gave chase.

I can't tell if its local or not when they are in their vehicles but I can surely tell if its a PRC or a bangla on a bicycle.

I can tell becoz as much as possible i try to get them wind down window and talk to them. Lol.

So far thankfully i ve not had a single rider honk me becoz i stop in e middle of a LS to talk to driver. Of coz i will hazard light first before slowing down.

Would be pissed too if a driver in an air conditioned, sheltered car messes with a biker (whether me or another) in the middle of heavy rain.

Well if this driver has no care for other road users then wont watch out for bikes either. Lucky no riders on e way. So if LS be careful of these situation also. Imagine LS too fast or just nice trying to LS overtake. **** happens.

I've seen an apek fuk a driver upside down

I wasn't that pissed because I'm sort of indifferent to weather when I'm already caught in it nor do I care if he's sheltered and dry. I was pissed he was incessantly horning for nothing. If he wasn't a *****, he would have stepped out. End of story.

These kind of drivers hor, think they are skilled drivers, drive like they own the road but don't even know where Pasir Gudang is or how to get to Sepang.

Sounds like me... But I don't horn for nothing... Neither do I cut into lanes from the chevron lane markings... Signal early, speed up when lane change... If jam then Bo bian follow behind car... Cause I scared driver cannot keep in their lane at bends...

Sometimes I think these drivers are really stupid, see you on the side, instead of changing lane behind u, they attempt to change lane in front of you but they don't have enough power to do so. If they signal their intention, I'll give way, if they attempt to force me out, I'll just go in front and give them the finger
They are not. They simply cannot accept the fact that our bikes though cheaper than their cars are actually faster. :what:

KKB... really irritating... slow drivers on the fast lane... swerving left right left right no signal dunno want to change lane or not.. ai mai ai mai...

du lan I signal left and overtake on the left... and the moment that you realise that she also finally decided to signal left and her butt is moving towards you when you are already in process of overtaking... priceless...

LPCB saw that coming... throttle on and evade all the way to the left side on the center lane... finger her and ride off...

Finger her? Do not forget to sanitize your hands afterwards.

Right now, if there is a courtesy campaign, there should be one for foreigners, teach PRCs stop being such rude brutes
I concur. Its even difficult to get a cup of coffee with extra milk at the coffeeshops.

To be fair, i ve seen rude locals and polite foreigners. No comment on e numbers though. But base on population where 3/4mil out of 5+mil is local, im guessing i c more rude local than foreign.

Then again, i dun care! Local or foreign, i wish we can all become polite on e road! It will sure increase road safety.

Today on PIE, i saw 4 cars pileup. Saw another van just change lane without signalling, checking mirror or blindspot, and actually made contact with the super4 which was right beside him. Heng the s4 rider never fall, just wobble a bit and blast horn and raise fist. while exiting at clementi, i saw 2 drivers using handphone while driving.

That's it, i'm getting GoPro3 and baodoh-ing all these irresponsible car drivers. Send to TP send to STOMP.

Yesterday while riding, on the way back home from CTE, merge PIE, den saw the cars are driving quite slow.. so I moved to 2nd lane after the double white line, upon reaching, checked mirror and "SHI*" the taxi is tailgating me. (I got pillion), rev abit to get my a*s away from him.. weird that after 1 min of high rev.. they are "slowed" down.. den I move to extreme left lane for safety reasons. (dun wan to high rev)...

Checked mirror, shi* one of the car behind the taxi is tailgating me.. Hi rev to shake him off, LS and etc, finally.. I can have peace.. Slowly ride for 5 seconds and there he is again! WT* he want sia.. shine that stupid HID lights and tail gate me!!

Now play slow.. slowly ride... (he follow me same exit).. Ok.. now he is pissing me off.. wait for him at next junction..

Weird! Nv come up.. Maybe he off his lights thus I dunno which is him while he pass me.. Else he turn one of the "carpark" before reaching my junction.. Stupid drivers...

Today on the way back home, on BKE to KJE, saw this car chiong up and got stuck behind another slower car infront.

I just slowly rode up near the car, and squeeze between, and was amongst the first few to exit to KJE :).

I really wonder what's going on in drivers' minds whenever they speed up suddenly, and wants to get to their destination so fast.

It's just a few seconds shaved off the duration or maybe minutes.

Why not just take it slow, and enjoy the smooth traffic.

Cars getting anywhere fast in Singapore? Dream on, especially not at peak hour

Precisely, if the drivers get this shoved up into their minds, Singapore roads would be more enjoyable.

Sorry, forgot to state, BKE in the direction of PIE, going into KJE towards Tuas.

The traffic in this direction not as bad as on KJE going towards BKE. :)

When i attended the army 2b course in kaki bukit in January, one of the instructors told me an interesting story. He rides a Gixxer 1k, and the other instructor rides a 400cc scooter. They both heading to Bukit batok after work, but by different routes. The gixxer went to PIE at average 80-90kmph, cos jam and he had to lanesplit. The scooter went by the Bartley viaduct at average 70-80kmph cos scared TP ambush, which is common at Bartley viaduct.

The Gixxer instructor only reached the destination like 5mins ahead of the scooter. The distance travelled is roughly the same.

if i travel at 100kmph for 2mins (3.333km covered), vs 80kmph (2.667km covered), the time i saved is only a few seconds. But too bad, speed gives the false impression that drivers or riders will save like 15mins if they chiongster.

Great calculations :thumb:

I used to go as fast as my small bike could in the past.

Now I only dare to go as fast as the board with numbers in red circle.o_O

Generally my own personal rule of thumb is that my MAXIMUM speed is 20 above the road limit, if riding without disturbance. But usually i will stick to the limit, or 10 above if the traffic is really smooth.

There are some exceptions though. Like once, i had to chiong home to lao sai, so chiong at 120kmph, the limit was 80-90kmph cos CTE. Other exceptions, thankfully only 2 times so far in my 7months of riding, are when i chasing errant car drivers in attempt to let them know they nearly caused my death. These drivers were doing 140kmph in the first case, and 160 in the second.

I've had chats with other drivers when stopped at traffic light and gotten some sincere apologies sometimes. I think when confronting, as much as possible, keep calm and don't be too emotional, and the drivers will be more likely to admit their fault and apologise.

Pity I can't catch up to them, just a stock spark :)

If you're chionging @ 120km/h, but look out more, it'd be ok.

If just chiong for the sake of fun/thrill, then:dozed:

I believe chiong for thrill belongs to track. As much as Singapore roads are good condition, there are more bumps and holes appearing than years ago. Hahaha. That chiong home at 120kmph was at 2am and roads were clear. it was emergency as well though. If i had gone any slower, i might have shitted my pants. Stomach churning all the way from the kopitiam to home. The kopitiam toilet was unusable man. Someone took a diarrhoea crap there and couldnt aim properly, even kena spray on the floor.

Sadly, nothing much can be done, bumps and holes can be fixed, but they will still appear strangely.

We can just harbour on the thought of contentment that our roads are more user-friendly compared to those in JB. :) i suppose.

Yes, our roads are more user friendly than Msian roads but it was not as good as the roads Singapore had years back. We've been cutting costs on repairing of roads.
