Same thing happened to me, few months back. I would suggest that you change the rim instead of knocking back.

To me only if really needed... best is to ask d mechanic n access d damage. if too extreme better change to new one. ya, safety must come first, imagine ride halfway sport rim crack n broken... :faint:

Change new rim better than knocking back. U knock back, there might be some hairline crack there, and your tyre will slowly leak air out from the crack. If park for 8-12 hours, it might be completely flat already...

I didnt even think twice, I went ahead and bought a new pair of rims. My friends and buddies say I'm unlucky, I tell them I'm lucky to come out unscathed.

IMO for bikes, never ever "repair" any part. Always replace with new parts.

I agree to a certain extend. cos you also have to see if the victim can afford to replace the parts. :) juz my 2 cents.

Yes, wise to change the rim. Can already see cracked on the rim liao.

Replace only when repair outweight it in terms of feasibility, cost, risk and availbility.

Anyway lucky you never fell. I also ram into a "UFO" on the road while riding in NSHW. I believe it should be a tyre debris. Riding around 120kph. The next thing I know is a huge impact follow by a serious bike wobbling with both leg off my foot pedal. Managed to keep bike upright and slow down to a stop by the shoulder. Damaged consisted of right foot peg broken causing a dent on the midpipe, one fairing piece missing and blue/black on both foot (I'm wearing SAF boots btw). Ya, I felt damn lucky also. Still can ride back SG with no serious injury.

The damage quite extensive, have to change, if its very minor can press.

Last time for my case only minor dent at rim edge. No crack or air leakage. So the mechanic just knock back a bit to original shape. In the end, the rim looks better without d dent anymore. :cheeky:

If I cant afford to replace at the moment, I'd rather take public transport. It's simply not worth the risk of getting into an accident because of repaired part which may fail at any given time.

Money is one thing but the pain and suffering from an accident with the possibility of lost of income or job is way worst.

Even if its not damaged, the parts may fail anyway sooo. Like I said la, depends on the degree of damage and how you ride the repaired bike.

Yeah... True too... That's what I call "sh1t happening" because the odds of that happening is very low, but it still happens anyway... -.-

today after riding..

parked my bike and was walking to the lift when i realised i had to take the same lift as the woman that bang my fren's bike. i entered the lift 1st, followed by the woman, then her husband. the woman gave me a very buay song cum stuck up face but the husband was better, no smile, just normal expression. i think when they eventually receive the insurance claim letter, the woman will give me a even more buay song cum stuck up face if i happen to see her again

Nabei, bang people want to give buay song face.

Yesterday, some idiot driver decided to suddenly change lane, reason due to exit is on 3 lanes away. My god, stupid drivers and their inability to place change lane approriately and before you exit, die die must change lane, you want mobility, ride.

Once, i had to take the lift with someone i had an altercation with, because he was turning in the carpark at recklessly high speed without checking exits, and never keep lane/side discipline, thus when he did a right turn, he nearly banged into me head on despite me being on the extreme left side. I had to e-brake and blast my horn at him before he madly swerved away and he even had the cheek to horn back at me.

Anyways, in the lift, i pressed 4th floor, then he pressed 11th. When the door closed, i turned and faced him, giving him a sibeh black face. I also clenched my helmet super tight, and all my veins were showing. Ding! 4th floor, i didnt get out, instead, i close the lift door and the lift continued going up. At this point, i raised the stakes. I clenched my teeth tight, so my face was twitching macam sibeh angry. He glanced at me for a while, then look at the lift display, then glance back at me, then look on the floor and then at his watch. When the lift door opened at 11th floor, he ran out like a scared. On the way back down to the 4th floor, i LOLed in the lift.

RIDE.

We riders face the elements, getting reminded of our mortality day after day. At the end of the day when drivers step out of their car, I still have my helmet to wack them hahahaha

No need to whack them la... Whack already Kena police case rabak la... Assault with deadly weapon or assault by dangerous means or Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt by dangerous means or VCH by dangerous means... All also arrest case... We riders, just take helmet to scare people who cause/ almost cause us to have accidents... It is our only means of defending ourselves on the road, and on the footpath... Because attackers use cars to bang us or use knives, metal poles to attack us... The helmet is our only means of defense against those two attackers mentioned... But so far, didn't have time to grab my helmet when I was attacked yet... Twice I was attacked... Twice also didn't get the chance to use helmet on the attackers... What a waste... :(
