There are many bikers dislike the white light improper intallation of white light

blinding them during the night. But there are bikers here wanna ride using high beams?

Well lit rds in SG dont need NB, only occaional reminding of opposite traffic that u r approaching. Or beam vehicles in front of overtaking lane to spd up.

I do suggested correct positioning of light where by u stop in front of a vehicles, headlight position should be at the licence plate of front vehcles but not higher than it. In this way ur low beam shoot far enough but low enough not to blind front drivers or riders.

dun use highbeam at night lei.. your "playing safe" is making other road users (yes, motorcyclist as well) DU LAN wif u. y make ppl curse u?

100% agree with u... Tis is juz selfish act if doing so. At high beam the opposite side of the road with be stun by the glaring light... It wil endangered their life. Remember Urban Legend... It might happen...:giddy:

i will on high beam on highway, and there is car park which car dun have good visual on the main rd, and low beam on normal road. i meet accident b4 when at night put low beam. cos driver or rider can't see when out of car park when there is car going to turn in some more(blind spot), so i learn. guys, S4 high beam is not bright la. unless u change to HID light. cos if u think. it a law in sg to on ur high beam when u on the rd for car, on your head light whatever timing for bike. so everynight, car driver blinding each other meh? BTW the high beam i refer to car is not the 3rd level high beam, 2nd level i mean. S4 high beam is the same as 2nd level beam for car. small rd low beam(cos will be close to any vehical). highway i think yes 'on' ba. no wrong. i think much on ppl in highway. ppl dun care me. 'BANG' liao then too late. remember, human cover metal for bike. who wrong doesn't matter liao... cos bikers going to suffer super great lost.

One of the situation where high-beam is usually useful; i will flash high beam when abt to enter a bend with no car in-sight. that way, the car on the opposite direction will know the presence of a moving vehicle (me) on the opposite direction and they will, hopefully, slow down and veer off the centre line.

For me riding in singapore road no need high beam cos roads are bright enough but as a rider we have to judge their movement and i will flash hi beam if the motorist drive like snake or dont check blindspot. When enter open carpark at night i on hi beam to attract attention of cars going out from the parking lot. cos they might not see us approaching.

flashing of high beam or tapping of horn is a way to communicate to the vehicles in front. flashing is like telling someone u r there or u r overtaking or passing a junction. tap of horn is to alert driver or rider that u r near them.

high beam riding or driving is not recommanded unless the bulb blow then no choice. if not, will blind the vehicle in front no matter how far it is. same goes to the vehicles in the opp direction.

Ya, correct. Dont try to always ON the high beam. Eye pain to others. Some of u mention flashing, i tink tat is better since its letting others know u r arnd.

I did tis during blind spot corner or whn juz behind at the side of a vehicle. Can b useful also whn u r reaching junction going straight n thr r vehicle turning right on the opp site.

Is it safer to have high beam on while riding at night? I use on high beam while riding at night so other road user can see my presence.

Ask yourself this question . Do you like vehicle behind you to switch on their high beam so that they can be make known of their presence.

Low beam is enough? Ur super 4 is using the rxz head light? The original 1 head light while low beam is good enough in sg.

My previous rides: A Pulsar Rider (27/4/2006), A S4 Vtec III Bolder Rider (12/6/2007), SYM GTS 200 (/12/2013),

On high beam to play safe mah..haaa...sometimes I on high beam, some drivers also cannot see.. Think they're blind. heee

But that is being selfish.

yes, i do understand that on high beam will help to let other motorists to notice you but you will also cause unwanted glare which might case an accident :giddy:

you wouldn't be happy if you riding in the night where all cars and motorbike behind you are on high beams. :faint:

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.

using your high beam unnecessarily is very inconsiderate to other road users. u blind them of course they cant see what u are lah! :giddy:

agreed. who know that the driver that didn't see him maybe "blind" by him. :sian:

Cars, trucks and bikes on high beam at night damn inconsiderate.. They think ppl will notice them more, but actually its the other way around. U get blinded by the high beam, all you can see is a bright light. Cant see the rider/car/truck, worse of all you cant judge the speed the high beam vehicle going.. worse of all u blind oncoming vehicles...

Wanna get notice at night, put more reflective tapes on your bike. Wear hi viz clothing... like my previous jacket, hi viz neon yellow with lotsa reflective stripes back, front and side:

Honestly, i get noticed more wearing hi-viz jacket. More drivers give way..
