Hello there.

I did what jB and Replay did to change the battery. I could start the bike initially but it later died once i throttled. Initially, it will start up and then died again. This happened a few times. I'm puzzled as to this result after changing to a new battery?

died once you throttled? hmm try pulling your choke and let it warm up more, or just adjust your idling..have you changed your spark plug or serviced recently? no idea, just wondering if these helps.

Last changed my spark plug and engine oil was in early november. I did pull my choke and let the bike warm up but once i throttled, it just died. One more thing, when i switched on the bike, my headlight don't seemed to light up. I wonder if it's cause the battery is too new and still 'cold'? :sian:

push back your choke and try again, don't light up? as in not bright enough or what? heard someone mentioned its a weak battery but oh well mine has been like that for sometime and I don't really bother. The most take 4 steps to push start.

nobody knows the size for the engine oil cap below to release EO?

I know mine.

Used to be 17. Got rounded and changed at Ah Chong. now is 23. Darn It grew so fast:angel: .

To have a rough idea take a ruler and measure it.

Hope this help

I just love the looks, feel and sound of an old good Guzzi, though it has been around since the time of my Grandfather. I guess "they" don't do things like that anymore! Well it's not true.

"They" still do URALS

When i turned the key, the headlight won't turn on at all. I got tired of kicking starting it for like 15 mins to no avail so i guess i'll continue tomorrow. Thanks. :)

so i shall assume its 17.

Oh by the way maybe i could mention, Daiso is a small paradise for 2 dollar tools. They have this cool invention, size 5-17 (i think) close torque wrench substitute...... at 2 bucks! i'm gonna get it for my next EO change. not good for weird angles or hard to reach areas though. u could get individual spannars at 2 bucks each for those special parts!

did i just go :offtopic: :cheeky:

PUSH the bike. literally

Real helpful if youve never push started a vehicle, could push from a#$hole to breakfast but if its cutting out as soon as he throttles its a waste of time. Is possible you need to charge new battery, but push starting can be awkward. You need to turn on ignition put in second gear push bike till you have sufficient speed drop clutcth and accelerate a little bit then be ready to either pull clutcth or jump on and ride. But I would check your battery connections first.
