Yeah, sometimes can be quite frustrating there... this one dont need to change lah, fix so good parts for what lah.. this not racing bike lah.. haha... My rear brake disc out of shape, he only told me when evrything fixed up n he said no need to change now, later i broke... next time can... funny...

Just hoping that its not piston problem cos I just did a top overhaul when I got the bike 1+ yrs ago. Lets see over the next few days if problem still persist after I change the chain/sprocket & air filter.

Btw, how to get rid of the waxy stuffs on new tyres? Rode back fm planet n felt the bike like slipping when cornering.. was wearing berms.. missed a few heartbeats...

dogshit2, I frequent ah Koon too.. 90% of my EO/Spark plug change & quite a number of accessoies are fixed there... but for major repairs or parts replacement, I trust Planet more... Did my overhaul at Koon n one of the screws wasnt tightened properly.. ended up my left leg was covered with EO when i got back home. He took full responsibility of course.. nice chap... so I still go to him for simple jobs...

The waxy stuffs either you do a burnout if its back tyre. Or usually pple will just ride slow after a few days ok already all gone...

Kzone if you manage to found out the problem for the jerks remember to post in this thread k...

If I do b4 you I will post here too....

A burnout is when you hold down the front brake and throttle at the same time, causing the rear wheel to spin on the spot and burning out the tire. Not advisable unless you want to destroy your brand new tire. The wax will come off in a short while, just ride with extra care till then.

burning out the tyre will not allow you to corner any sooner, since in a burnout you do not wear out the wax from the angled walls of the tyre. just ride normally with extra care :cheeky:

Changing engine oil is very simple, just remove the cap below the engine (not sure what tool is needed) and let all the oil flow out into a pan or container. Replace the cap and pour a new bottle through the opening at the side (you need pliers or something similar to twist open the cap) and you're done. What's not easy is the disposal of the oil: you can't just throw it away unless you completely do not give a d@mn about the environment, so almost everybody brings their bikes to a shop to change the oil.

can anyone advise me on what tools are needed for EO change ?

You sure you have proper disposal method for the used oil yea. Dun later NEA come after you. All you need is a closed-sided wrench to open the drain nut, and an oil pan to contain the drained out EO. Wrench size, not sure and can't remember... :p

Why not you bring your bike to shop for EO change for ONE time, then see how they do it.

- Phantom must feed new EO regularly. Every month or 3000km.

- Every 3 mths do full servicing (wash carb). Optional. Some pple think carb dun touch unless got prob. For myself, when I was riding TA200 for a yr, full service every 3mths.

- Every 3mths/6000km change air filter & spark plugs.

Went 105/110 (on meter) just now n no jerking... dont dare go faster yet... so cud it be the old sprocket that was creating the problem?

the carb... shouldn't be leaking anything... better get it checked soon ok...

its normal for the engine to sound uneven while idling... since we have only one cylinder... dun worry about it :cheeky:

check ~ wash ~ change o-seal ring .. but will still leak .. then morning or after parking after 30min onward .. the engine will tend to stall often while on idiling.. moving off after warming up and stop at traffic light then move off again will also stall.

that is very serious... if the engine is warmed and it stalls by itself... :sian:

do visit a mech soon ok...
