EO leaking means gasket gone case, engine has to come down in order to replace. Then since you replacing gasket, check out the piston and rings at the same time lor.

EO leaking down sidestand should be the left side 'magnet' cover gasket worn out liao. This one should be quite easy to replace. Go motordiam to check.

Hi pple.. juz to ask a question.. If the label of the engine oil indicates "premium multigrade 4-stroke motorcycle oil", wat does it means? It never indicates semi or fully synthetic oil leh.. Anyone knows wat the label means?

Hmm.. forget to ask in my previous post.. Can i change down my gear like cub? (I dunno what is it called, it's a lightweight bike with a basket in front)

 

Cub riders usually stopped at the traffic light then they begin to kick down their gears to Neutral or gear 1.. Usually I stopped at gear 2 or gear 3 and I begin to kick down to gear 1 in the stationary position.. Can I know if kicking down gears this way will damage my gearbox? If yes, what should I do to improve on my riding style?

 

Usually i stopped at gear 3 is becoz i usually let the bike slow down using gear 6 engine brake (Somebody in this forum said that "pulling" ur bike using engine brake no good).. By the time i approach the stop line, I not enough time to kick down to gear 1 by engine brake.. So usually i end up stopping the bike in gear 2 or 3 then i kick down to gear 1..

yeah!!! I finally cleared my 8.01 after 5 unsuccessful attempts.... very excited that i am going for my TP test at end of this month...

 

More excited on getting my Phantom TA200 bike....

 

Some queries:

1. What kind of petrol should I use? Is Mobil 5000 ok? Or should I pump Mobil 8000?

 

2. Does a bike need to do regular servicing like a car? That is... 1000 km, 5000 km, 10000 km, 20000 km, (every 10000 km thereafter)?

 

3. What kind of cleaners do u use to wash the bike? Can car cleaners/lotion do the job? I use Armourall Car wash and wax for washing my car and Armourall Protectant for the inside portion of the door and dashboard. Will these cleaners/lotion do the work for a bike?

 

4. Can I use the foam tyre spray for the bike tyre too?

Hmm.. although I riding a phantom for 3 mths, I try my best to answer some of ur qns.. Pls correct me if I;m wrong.. I may not be right..

Personally i use 98 grade of petrol.. But i heard that some PK oso use 95 grade.. Therefore, my answer is it depends on the rider personal preference..

For me, i change my EO on 1000km, 2000km then 3000km.. At 3000km the bike consider run in alreadi.. Aft running in, u can choose to go for servicing every 3000 to 5000km.. Up to u..

For me, I use KIT car wax for waxing, Armourall wheel cleaner for cleaning my rims, motorex chainlube to lube my chain, and turtlewax polishing compound to polishing my exhaust header and pipe..

This 1 i dunno wat's the answer leh.. personally i dun clean my wheels.. just use water spray onli.. Cuz i heard from pple, cleaning tyres will make the tyre more slippery.. Any comments?

 

Pls do not take my answer for reference.. I'm onli a new rider and my answer can be wrong too.. I'm using stating how i take care of my bike.. If i'm wrong, pls correct me..

Mobil 5000 is OK

Recommended service interval for TA200 is ~5000km

Yes

I wouldn't recommend it, but you can if you wish. But make sure it doesn't cause your tyres to become slick & slippery. You don't want to buang while banking thru a corner because your tyres are 'polished' by the cleaner.

I oso got this problem.. When i 1st bought the helmet, my gf saw that the PSB sticker is ugly then she tore it off the helmet.. Being a new rider, i oso dunno tat sticker is impt.. If can buy it, i'll buy it.. Rather than wait for pple to fine me..

 

As for the $30 to gahmen, means will kena fine $30 by who? TP, LTA?

hey gt a question to ask.can i know if phantom ta 200 is kick start or electric start?cause when i tried my friend's kawasaki is kick start...then very hard to start the bike.cause too used to electric start in ssdc...

Why my bike when on the move like on the 5th and 6th gear the sound like 'ehhh'(higher pitch) like that ah? Its a TA 200 here fyi... The other gears are rather low pitch.... The sound only emits when i open trottle... Even abit also got sound... any 1 experience this b4?

So does it mean that when I get a brand new bike, my first servicing will be at the 5000 km? or should I do servicing at 1000 and then 5000 and every 5000 henceforth?
