I just went for my 2nd free servicing at Boon Siew. Afterwards there seems to be a sound coming from the chain when the bike is moving. Like sand grinding... Dunno how to explain it better...

This didn't occur before my servicing. So wanna ask if any of u guys encountered this and how to remedy??? :help:

Sounds like the chain might be too tight. Did they check the chain tension?

I dunno if they did check after tightening... I pushed the chain with my foot there seems to be about 1-2cm slack. maybe not enough?

Probably will bring it down again on Sat for them to check juz in case!

Thanks fer the advice kiamh...:thumb:

Check the chain slack while sitting on the bike.

1~2cm of slack with the bike unloaded seems too tight to me.

being honda sole agent doesn't mean its gd.

and during the bike collection, my dad (being an experience mechanic/machinist before) went down to interrogate and f u c k the old man mechanics, yet they still yaya here and there. they have destroy my entire rear rim instead of repairing it. a simple repair which can be done in a shot ended up going there 3 times and spending a bomb.

A question to those who applied for Seasoned Parking for their bikes:

Are we supposed to display the green paper thing or can we just park without it?

I heard if we are to get a ticket (prolly because we did not display it) we can appeal against it, but what are the chances of them withdrawing the fine?

I have the best signature.

yup, must display.

if those auntie/uncle device is not updated, they will still summom you, even you pay thru giro or SAM or AXS.

and yes, you will need to go and appeal even you had bought and didnt display the season coupond, you will not need to pay extra cause you had season ticket. just the trouble of going down thats all.

:giddy: I tot they would've been sent for training at honda so would be better at servicing!

Now seriously reconsidering if should go back there... And still have to pay for my own EO too!!

I also hear from the forum then noe all these but i gt a fren jus install in on his S4 Spec 2 few weeks ago will get the feedback from him then let u noe. bout the EO and spark plug can tell me how much dif it changes to ur bike/

Hi davedevil.. Juz to update u on the K & N air filter issue.. I've bought it at EverSuccess at mustafa there.. Price bout $65.00 + 5% GST.. However, I installed the aif filter not knowing tat the bike requires a retune..

Result is my whole bike haywire.. It becomes somethin like acceleration increases but loses its top speed.. Bout 80km/hr will start to make noise and give u the feeling it can't go anymore faster..

I solved the problem by going down to ah koon and let him take a look.. Lucky I had his phone number in my hp.. And i decided to follow his suggestion to use back my original filter until 10000km. Then I'll perform a full servicin which I'll install the K & N air filer and retune at the same thing..

Thanks to ah koon, now my bike is back to normal and I won't waste my money on the K & N filter..

hi,

i juz got my ta150. juz like to check wif the phantom pros: 2T is top-up at the small cap that is protected by a metal piece with a screw at the front left of the bike rite?

another qxn: is the abovementioned 2T top-up pt also known as the Engine Oil for the bike or is Engine Oil a separate thing in a separate place?

Seperate thing

lastly, the OIL indicator in the speedometer refers to 2T or engine oil?

2T

haha, rite now i dunno if 2T is the same or different from Engine Oil (confused)

2 T is used in your TA150 for lubrcating the Piston, it burns together with the petrol, that's why you need to top it up, it's very very important

Gear oil is the other liquid used to lubricate the other engine parts, some people call it engine oil. any gear oil, 4t, engine oil can be used, usually change every six-12 months or 10000Km, which ever is sooner.

Hope to get some help to clear up my confusion!!

Hi there,

think you better go to a bike shop and ask for a basic lesson on TA150 parts before it HOT up.

Hi pple.. How much engine oil do u add to ur engine huh? A mechanic once told me tat phantom TA200 "eats" engine oil, so he encourage me to add in 1.3 Ltr.. I found out tat too much engine oil can damage the interior of the engine.. So I reduced to 1.2Ltr..

I read from the manual tat recommended amount is 1Ltr.. So how much u guys add in to ur engine and how often u performed a check on the level of ur engine oil? Is adding 1.2Ltr ok?

Thanks.. :cheer:

No prob to put 1.2L, mine has always been 1.2L. I even heard a mechanic at AMK saying that he recommend all his phantom customer to put 1.5L! :cheeky:
