2) maybe bearing worn out causing bike to wobble. verify that if there's knocking or grinding sound from rear wheel when it moves

3)

Hi people... have been reading this forum and find it very informative now i got a burning question myself...(still a newbie..)

today was lubing my chain and find something shocking! one of my chain link has cracked!

(pardon my paint drawing)

http://img01.picoodle.com/img/img01/7/2/13/f_Crackedchaim_112db33.png

1)How? will the crack worsen and the chain break? (anytime soon?)

Went to Planet 2 or 3 weeks ago to tighten my chain and the mechanic told me that my chain is jagged and need to change soon.. didnt saw the crack at that point. He said my chain are uneven and looks like a ladder in small part.

And asked him for the price of a set of chain n sprocket.

2) he quoted 130 for TA200 stock chain.. is it ok?

No problems so far in running, even at 110km/h except for the loud sound sometimes... hope i still can use it for tml! (vdae)

thanks for any advice!

Hideki45: I've passed 2 inspections wif my number plate (metal) sticked below e headlight using those heavy duty double-sided tape. No probs for me. Inspection at Sim Ming.

how they check for the licence plate during inspection?

they will see see only? or will try to look into detail whether will drop off if under double side tape?

i dunch know man. sometimes they r bullshit.

@ vicom changi

1st time i went, the guy said must screw, no double side tape, else he can fail ur inspection.

2nd time i went, another guy, just visually do a quick check on the bike, didn't even bother the number plate man.

what does this tell? sin-kapor is full of sh*t.

just changed a new set of chain(O ring) and font/rear spocket(Original) for $150.

is advice to changed spocket too if you gonna to change the chain.

uneven chain meant that it has not been lube for long long long time, since you "confirm" is a crack, better get it changed ASAP.

CHeers..

Hi PKs,

I just bought TA200 and have a question relating insurance.

I received a letter from the shop stating the insurance cover Third party blah blah.

But at the bottom there is a paragraph stating i need to change with proper insurance from the company within 14 days and this is just a temporary slip.

so do i need to go down to Misui to change or this letter is the insurance itself?

cos the shop only give me this and nvr say anything and i also nvr check. :giddy:

how does an insurance look like? just a A4 sheet paper or a card? please reply me. Thanks.

fot NTUC ...

they will give a big A4 envelope with the details of the policy and a certificate of the policy itself in it ...

eh .. last renewal they send the whole thing to my place ..

if u bought ur bike from shop ...

why not just ask the shop ?

As u ride without applying front brakes, can u hear any squeeking sound? if u can, then the disc plate may warp.

if u feel tt the brakes bite and then dun bite when u squeeze the lever, u shd have urself a warped disc...

one word of advise.. after doing some heavy braking like let's say on the front brake, after u have stopped, do not continue to apply the front brake. use the rear brake to keep urself still if u need to.. this is so as after heavy braking, the disc becomes very hot. if u keep the brakes applied, the brake pads, along with the pressure, will warp the area of the disc it comes into contact with. thus u get an uneven brake disc.. jus my 2 cents..

Hi,

If one of the fork is oily, the solution is to change the seal and put in more oil or change the fork?

I saw someone mention it.. but when i went to ah chong, one of the mechanics say i need to change the fork is ard 3-4 mths time...

So which one is the solution?

I think it will be quite dangerous to keep your hands off the front brakes?

I think I'd re-machine the warped disc or change it if I really have to.
