wahaha2: It's to tune e idle spd of ur bike. Ask ur mechanic to tune to e bike's most efficient idle spd.

Ninelives: No prob riding e bike. It's juz tat ur speedometer cable has come loose. Open up e speedometer by removing e 2 nuts, n u can re-attach n tighten e speedo cable to ur speedometer. Cheers!

Hi all,

So I decided to wash my bike today, at the same time clean the chain as it was grimey; thanks to all the rainy journeys I've been taking. Busy wiping the chain with a cloth when I saw this little thingy sticking out from 1 of the links. Was thinking,'Wow, got twig that got caught, lucky cleaning chain, shall pull it out.' Guess what i pulled put..... An O-ring!!!! :giddy: ARghh!! WTF!!?!!@ The best part, I only just changed the chain and sprocket about a mth ago only... And to think i've been religiously waxing the chain every 4-5 days of riding.

2 qns:

1)Just how long can i ride before the whole thing snaps and flings towards me. Basically how critical is that 1 o-ring?? (dun crack any 'The chain is as strong as it's weakest link' metaphors ok?) Can i actually ride to work and go down to the shop on Wedl when i'm free?

2)If No, it has to be done ASAP, any motor shops opened tmr, Sunday?? No rite?? Need to dig out my EZ link card liao. **HAi**

HeLP...HElp....help. Seriously, did this ever happen to anyone b4? I'm so lucky ah?

Hi, I have half a bottle of unused engine oil which I've used for running in my bike.. However, it has not be used since I changed my engine oil to semi-syn aft my run in.. I know the EO can be used as:

1) Chain Lube

2) used as lubricant for pivot of side stand

3) Use a brush and apply at any rusty parts on the bike. i.e. screws, foot pegs etc..

Any other applications?

Note: this bottle of EO has been stored for more than a year.. Hence, I wouldn't want to mix it wif my semi-syn EO..

By the way, do u guys know where can I get those squeeze bottles? Similar to those chilli sauce bottles?

IMO:

Wax: Coats the layer, lets it shine and protects.

Polish: Clear debris, stain, etc, to clean.

Most products which boast either qualities does both.

I have the best signature.

hi, would like to ask why do we need to wash carb and how often do we need to do tat?

washing of carb is to clear a layer of carbon(i think is this) form in it after long time of operation...

maybe someone can correct me. as i heard from the motordiam mech say there will be a layer of "something" form inside the carb that will somehow affect the performance...

regarding the freq of washing.. it depend.. as someones mention last time.. keep on open up the carb and wash will create a pop pop sound from the exhaust...

some wash everytime the go for their monthly servicing.. some maybe very 10000km, maybe ...

my case is every 4000km - 6000km

that mean every two to three EO change i will do my full servicing - include carb washing

I think it's the petrol residue... Try not to service/wash your carbs too often, it will do more harm than good at times. The closest interval I service my carbs was 1 year. Usually it's 2 years when I ride a carb bike.

honestly,in my 1/2 yr of riding, i havent wash carb even once..mabbe tts why i got backfiring.

on a side note,i had common loud backfiring b4 i had my air filter replaced after riding 10000km.after replacing it, i experience lesser back fires, and much much softer ones compare to last time. mabbe because new filter=more air, then air fuel ratio better.less air=too rich thus backfire??

just one way to reduce backfiring occurances.
