so far i havent been lubin my chain, yet. coz im unsure what brand is good to lube e chain.. i didnt notice at e 1st place when i bought e bike, izzit already naturally yellowish.. not untill after 3plus mths later i realized tat. if it is maxima chain lube, where cld i possibly get it frm? and abt e cleanin, i must try and see if e colour comes off.. but clean wif diesel/petrol? where cld i get it?

chain gt gold colour? ehehe.. yah my bike is still new, so, i dun tink its a gold chain? it has been raining these days and my place iz an open carpark. when its raining, and e chain gets wet, e next day, rust already.. cover with canvas is equal to = useless..:sian:

Get the maxima chain lube from ah chong @ planet. I bought mine @ mustafa which is slightly expensive.

If it is raining quite heavily, putting on bike canvas is also useless. I cover my bike when I going to book in. When I book out and uncovered the bike canvas, my bike is also wet. :faint:

Go to bigger mama shop or DIY shops like homefix, buy a bottle of kerosene.

After that, go to bike shops ask for Maxima Chain Wax (the brown colour 1).

Then wash ur chain using kerosene & used toothbrush & lube ur washed, cleaned, & dry chain by this Maxima. If cant find @ bike shops, go Mustafa.

The brown color chain wax nice to use? I using the silver color one. haha :cheeky:

Both lube version and wax version have pro's and con's. Lube version is easier to apply and easier to clean but gets flung off so must apply and remove excess. Wax version sticks better (lasts longer) but also attracts dirt more, so becomes dirty and must remove and clean more before applying clean layer...

I am using a teflon spray right now.. sticks to chain quite well and lasts

I doubt so. Never seen malays there before.

yeah I heard about using teflon spray.. does it still work for o-rings?

As for using wax, i find that it can be quite a hassle sometimes coz your chain MUST be warmed up. otherwise, it is useless. There's also a jelly thingy out there right? I have seen it but isn't sure where to get it. or am I mistaken? The jelly thingy should be a good compromise...

U know what I've seen a Msian cook/chef put in his chain? Margarine. Can u believe it?

We was eating at this so called restaurant (road side of HDB flats) & just beside where we sit was the parking lots for motorbike. Then this Msian cook came out from the kitchen with a yellowish glue like in his left hand. Then he approached to his bike & used his right hand to apply to his bike chain. We was surprise & asked him was that margarine u put on ur chain? Answered me yes. Then I just looked at him with my surprised face & no words to say, & he just smiled & walked away. :dozed:

now we know one more reason why chains can turn yellowish!

honestly, i suspect using margarine in oiling chain may have similar effect to using engine oil, etc.

as long as the cook doesnt use engine oil for cooking, should be pretty ok.

hmm why another cbr150? why not other bikes? iirc, repsol i think produce for older cbr models nia. as in, original ah. but newer ones i duno.

There is no replacement for displacement, except for Ah Seng

cubs are not for me; scooter no need to say. pulsar seat too high for me; i prefer 4-stroke electric start, the list goes on.

i compared bikes when i first thought of getting one, and made my decision with the cbr150. years on, it has brought me no problems and of coz i will want to stick with it. i dont want a brand new cbr coz i dont want to do the run-in -- mostly, no patience, and then there's the extra cost.
