Actually timing chain for bikes is good to do it once after 100 k kms.

If not if u heck it and let it go "tet-tet-tet" it will eat up the shims which are small little spacers near the valve... so u will get lesser power and noisier and irritating engine...

For Cbr i would think it would be good to do it if u are going to keep the bike for long like zeddo, don, chris and justin. When a bike reaches 100k... many things in it are due already.. and since u are going to keep the bike why not invest a lil more and let it go much longer?

BUT, if u don't want... then nvm lar. U know... your $$ i cant say anything right? But put it this way.. you have 1 cylinder.. so just pamper it abit more because thats the main heart... If u have 4 5 or 6 cylinder... then... by all means lor.

and 2b bike open top do a half overhaul also quite cheap ma hahah

prolly $200+ u are getting a almost new engine liao lo.

hi zongren!! hey havent met up with u guys since cuscaden with nils??

anyway, good to do what? my bike currently only at 14,804km. yup.

i also encounter a near theft, ignition had signs of brute force leaving the metal surface with slight dent. The thief nv succeed (i was lucky because prev owner replaced the ignition key system, i didnt know whether this was the reason but i guess im just lucky).

it happened in broad daylight somemore...

be careful everyone!

My own CBR already can do it.... the keyhole not virgin already, you put in any key also can turn on.. i used to use a disc lock... lasted all of one day cos i rode off without unlocking it and the lock shattered.... :cheeky:

ya i hope its jus some young buggers taking a joyride and will park it somewhere easy to find,

not someone who want to smuggle it out the country.

the bike have the hexagonal key lock thingy.. but it's not used, because a fren had troubles with it before on his wave.

I use that all the time - i guess it really jus make stealing my bike a little bit harder .....

Ultimately, if someone really wanna steal ur bike, they can and they will... but for the opportunists, u make it harder for them to steal your bike compared to the next one... any additional lock or other deterrent will help

Pain has arrived in form of repair bills... quick summary, new chain and sprockets (190), new rear tyre (240), new front brake pads (80), normal maintenance (oil, filters, etc, 200)... total cost: 700 euro *ouch*:cry::cry:

Ohwell, at least can ride properly and safely for a while again :)

guys, can i just check with you whether this deal is worth or not? been looking around bike shops so far and found one which quote me 2.2k for a CBR150 with 5 years COE left.

its an accident bike but the only damage is done to the head (just the head itself). fairings and frame no visible damage or scratches. a new head and other necessary parts like battery will be replaced.

do you guys think whether i should get this or not. or does anyone here have any deals to offer? thanks anyway!

yeah accident before but not very serious. As i mentioned, just to the head which he would replace with a new one.

my main concern is the frame and engine. didnt see any visible damage to the frame when he open up the seat and fuel tank area. the mechanic started up the engine and asked me to listen for weird sound, but i dont think that was enough to test for damage.

any suggestions how to test it without opening it? mileage is 65000km for the 5 years old bike by the way.

frame look for places where they weld back if any.... welded portions tend to look messy and not smooth.

if the bike whack head on common damage areas are the head, fork, header... check if any of those are scratched or bent.

If you really so concern about riding an accident bike... best is to walk away and look elsewhere.... there are CBR150s all over the place if you look hard and wait long enough.
