Bro, sorry ah but for me money is everything la. Healing is free repairing is not. Just my way of thinking i guess.

Money is not everything, but everything needs money.

Just go to the track and enjoy yourself. Go on a weekday with someone experience.

And if you're good, your friends will tell you. And don't let that go into your head.

You will meet many kind of people with 'colourful' characters. And choose your riding buddies and "COACH" carefully.

It's not about being lucky or not to meet expert riders who can guide you and teach you the correct techniques.

It's who you look for and whether you have enough interest to actually go and ask around and look for the right person to guide/teach.

Not trying to argue / debate with you. When you are new to the track, you don't know whose advice to listen to. Heck, you don't even know who is experienced! You end up doing mix-and-match and usually get nowhere.

I was very interested when I started and asked around politely. Only a handful of riders gave me any attention. I am thankful for Throttle and Shah. Others just ignored the lowly newbie that I was. Maybe that was the culture back then. I met Charn pretty late in the game and it was extra difficult to put his advice into practice because old bad habits got into the way. Of course late is definitely better than never - his advice helped tremendously. But beginners could have avoided developing bad habits if they had good guidance to start with.

Whatever it is, safety first. Money lost can be earned. Life lost cannot be recovered.

Peace out.

Just my side of story: 10 years ago, a newbie track rider wanted to borrow my 2 year old Nankai suit. I wasn't keen coz I'm selling my suit. And before that, another rider also wanted to borrow which I declined. It's just that I'm very uncomfortable of lending my suit as they're very personal, especially my helmet. So he bought it from me for $300.

2 mths later, he had an accident at Turn 2 and he passed away in the nearby hospital. The doctor had to cut his racing suit when he was brought to the hospital. And they had difiiculty removing his helmet as his head was already swollen.

PG by itself is safe as much as bike riding is safe.

It is the riders that make it dangerous. Have a good set of tyres, brakes and set up the suspension correctly first. Make sure the tyre pressures are set right. Then go slow first, learn how to take the corners in the right gears first (good way to start is with the no brakes drill) then progress from there.

It is those riders that ride out of their capability or with throttle powered by ego that crash and make the sport dangerous.

Track riding is about understanding the limits of your machine and more importantly, yourself. Track riding is about sharpening your reflexes and improving your riding skills.

It is not about going into a corner faster than the other guy and then overshooting or lowsiding and crashing out in style.

When the finer skills of track riding have been acquired, braking and transitions to accelerations... the corners will be taken at a lower angle and the corner speeds will automatically increase. This all take practice... lots of practice.

By the way... I personally find riding on public roads more dangerous than riding at PG, rough surface or not.
