Im pissed with my bikeshop. When signing the forms & contracts etc, they stated that i'll be getting headlamp protectors & sliders FOC. They wrote it down as 'SLIDERS'.

 

Went to change EO at 1200km. These buggers set to install Motovation Sliders (the one that requires cutting) on my horse. Then the mechanic told me tt the hole required to drill through the fairing is way too big and he asked me if it will be okay with me if they drill a hole that big. Of course naturally i told them tt it would be better if the holes required were smaller. So i asked why dont they install the no-cut sliders. Coz it seems to me that the mechanic himself was NOT recommending me to have my fairings cut off. So he asked his oldbird salesman.

 

And guess what? This cuckoo told me that for the no-cut sliders, i have to top up cash abit. I was abit stunned, but nevermind. So i asked, how much. And he say about $100 - $120. Like WTF! So i was thinking, is the difference in price between the CUT SLIDERS and the NO-CUT SLIDERS really about $100??

 

And what got me peeved was that they stated SLIDERS as FOC. They didnt mention wdr it was the CUT or the NO-CUT type. I dont know if im wrong or they are wrong. But can someone just tell me if i should be paying any money just so i can get the sliders? Or are they right in asking me to top-up? Even so, at a $100??

bro i think geting the cut slider will be better if no cut i just like a bracket on it no point right if drop sure gone...

i think wat ryozok say is right get the cut one will be safer but no point topping up cause they didnt say cut or non cut. If u want the non cut one can talk with them until u get it lor. Show them the prove that they didnt state, worse then top up abit more i think the most $50 max not $100

bro, the no cut sliders are more expensive because of 2 good quality machined brackets. the price for the no cut is actually ~$170 as prankster got it installed before. i knew the large price diff so i made sure that the bikeshop wrote "no-cut sliders" and counter sign clearly before my wallet came out. personally, i prefer not to cut my fairings because when the guy does the cutting, there might be some error in the alignment and the fella might just cut a bigger hole to fix his error. worst thing is, if the bigger hole also misaligned, LPPL. i have seen many mechs work before and most of them just whack only, they don't worry at all, at most they just blame you for telling them to cut lor.

 

since i would not be seeing any tracktime, i opted for the no-cut version just to protect the fairings and engine casings for stationary drops. so far so good, haven't drop yet and i plan to keep it that way, knock on wood. some people crashed with cut sliders and claim that there was no frame damage, some crashed with no cut sliders and said the same with pics so basically, i feel that they will more or less produce the same amount of protection when sh*t happens.

bro, i wd recommend to fix sliders that requires yr fairing to be cut.

 

for the no-cut version, if u fall, everything rely more on the bracket itself, rather then the strength of yr bike frame. wat i'm trying to say is, no-cut version, yr slider's bracket is install to yr bike frame, unlike the cut version, yr sliders r directly on the frame. so these no cut version, if the bracket is not strong enough to withstand the impact, yr bracket can bent or break, worst, might injured yr eng block as the bracket is near the eng block.

 

i am using an evotech no cut sliders, the brackets are barely an inch away from the eng block. hopefully evotech built strong brackets. n by physically looking/weighing at my evotech brackets, they seems to be solid strongth material. so touchwood lah hor!!! heheeh....i'm not sure about motovation no cut brackets though.

motovation is good and affordable price. other den motovation, i can recommend evotech. good and nice too....but ex. evotech is made in italy. motovation is local. other den these 2, not sure of other good brands. regina and motoworld brings in sliders too, but doesnt look as good.

thx bro for the info. i being using motivation for pass 2 year, slider is good after i skip or drop the rubber only come out abit faring is ok but the slider seem to be a little too short lol. maybe i could try the one u mention evotech...

i just got my cbr =) but i not yet run in lol i just normal riding rpm not over 7k

running in pretty simple...jus need patient.......now u ride slow, rpm maintain maybe at 5 or 6...no hard accelleration during running in. den 800km change eo, jus use semi syn will do. den ride slow, rpm can go up a bit maybe 7 or 8, next 800 chg eo, den can whack a bit....but gradually...take it easy....den next 800 change eo again to complete yr running in, dis time use full syn eo.

and yah...dun forget to chg oil filter as well during yr 3 phase eo chg. u r welcum to run in at track...no problem. doesnt mean go track must go fast...heheh...go on weekdays...u can ride slow. hehe..aproach me if u wanna go....

Guys........i probably want to sell away my sliders when i fix my race fairing soon. If i do...anyone would be interested? I am using EVOTECH NO-CUT SLIDERS. Bought it at $240...yes its expensive. Its a good quality n nice sliders made in ITALY. The brackets are solid. Head of the sliders are removable, so if u crashed and damage the sliders, u will only need to change the head, not the whole set.

 

But this is not confirm yet. If i do wanna sell it, i will post some pics here. And i will be letting go at $200 firm.

Bro, i was in the same situation as u.... Bikeshop play punk too....

 

Anyway, as i din wanna let the bikeshop earn more... I just took the "cut" sliders... I brought it to any shop, and told them i bought wrongly, and i would like to install the "no cut" sliders... I ask them if they willin to let me trade in the "cut" sliders anot... They said okie... I dun mind payin a little more... I just din wanna let the shop which sold me the bike earn somemore money...

Cannot like that say ah bro.... I'm sure bro, when motovation come out the "no cut" sliders, it has been inspected and tested to a certain extend that the QC would certified it to pass the standards...

 

Being "cut" or "no cut" sliders, i'm sure both will work the same for ur bike... At the same time, if crash at very very high speed, i'm sure whether "cut" or "no cut" sliders, the engine block would still be damage anyways...

 

Just my point of view...

 

Anyway, to get the "no cut" sliders would be better in my opinion is becoz, when u wanna sell ur bike, i'm sure buyers would prefer to get a so called perfect bike... I'm sure if possible, they wouldn't 1 a bike wif fairings cut here or there... At the same time, u could sell ur "no cut" sliders to others...

Anyway, regarding run in, if u can spend some time readin the thread, it would be good... Now its a bit late and i'm gettin slpy, so a bit lazy to find...

haha the cut of the fairing is not that bike just a small half round circle cut so is ok and it free tho =X
