:cheer: finally got my bike today. Yeah can join u guys for outing. now jus have to do the boring running in part.

I plan to stick to below 60km/hr if possible for the 1st 1000km. Someone pls comment on this.

Actually was a little upset after picking up the bike, cos of some hiccups

1) the bike was left in the raing yesterday, and the bike shop did not bother to polish it before passing to me. but thats still okay.

2) after running for like a few street away from the bike shop. the engine suddenly cut off. and the bike jus cannot start anymore. i called the mechanic, and the took back to the bikeshop. Then he start to dismantle and say that some needle is not stopping the oil from flowing to the carbrurator. then once stop cannot start cos over flow. anyway it too technical for me.

3)next i discovered that the bike cannot start when pressing the front brake, then they dismantle the front part n did some fixing.

totally spend like 4 hrs doing all these stuff. luckily i took half day off to collect the bike. but i really felt that the bike shop can do a better such as helping the customer to do a through check before handling it over to me.

hope to see you guys in future outing soon. really want to learn more abt it

just to share........

today my mileage clock 260km then then fuel low light lighted up. i read the past few pages of this tread and realised that most x8 rider can hit 300km on a full tank.

jus wondering why my bike fuel consumption rate is faster then wat most others x8 riders. Is this normal?

When the low fuel light lighted it, does it mean that it naturally goes into reserve?

today jus pump another 11 litres of shell98, going to monitor how much i can mileage i can clock this time.

Hi,

I think you have to read the manual. it clearly states the running in speed that you can travel. if i am not wrong, it says do not exceed 80km during the 1st 1000km.

travelling at 60 or below will cause ur temp to goes up and that will keep your coolent fan turning on all the time.

travelling at 60km on the E-way is dangerous in the 1st place even if u are at the leftmost lane. i dont like to stay behind a lorry or something that will block my vision. take it up to 80km and stick to the 2nd lane. if you need to overtake, it is ok to go up to 90km and then after overtake drop it back to 80km. Do it smoothly and gradually and not to ram it. Under hot weather, your temp will go up very fast at 50 - 60 km.

after you have run in your 1st 1000km, your FC should pick up. no worries on that. Have fun and enjoy your ride.

Thanks larlee for the advice.

took the bike up to 80 km/hr today. However feel there is more vibration from the bike. izzit natural?

I read up manual, it actually says that during runnning, within the first 1000km do not exceed 80% of the maximum speed. I am confused.

Does that mean:

Our bike max speed 160 therefore run-in, dont travel above 160 x 80% = 128km/hr

or max speed 120km/hr, therefor 120 x 80% = 96 km/hr

???????

Our bike max speed is abt 120+ km/h. I ever go 130+ km/h but its wind and slope assisted. So if u want to calculate should be 80% of 120km/h. But my advice juz stick it to below 80km/h but gradually raising it as more mileage u go then ur scoot wont b underpowered. Juz bear in mind the ppl at the scoot factory had whacked your scoot wen they test it
