It's depressing. :(

Is there actually anyone out there who still fails after the 3rd time?

If there are any of you guys who do, mind sharing tips on how to pass the next one?

(focus more on CR, the times you took revision before the next one etc.)

Thanks in advance. :)

I know how depressing it is, but failing 3 times is not a big deal. I took 7 times for 2b, 2 times for 2a and 1 time for 2.

My 7th time for 2b is not my best performance, honestly speaking.

You will get your license as long as you don't give up.

I passed it on the first time recently and I felt that I did it because I knew exactly what to do. I personally think that you just need to know exactly where to check blind spot, when to change gear and signal. I memorise them to the point when it becomes clockwork. I don't even think on that day.

Run through you mind like a million times till there's no doubts at all. The rest is performance on the day itself.

If you can get to TP only means that you have the capability to pass. So don't give up just yet!

If no immediate failures you should be able to pass.

Basic rule of thumb,

1)when ever & wherever you stop, before moving off check back to your rite ( whether clear to move or not )

2) Approaching a corner , left means check to your left & right means check to your right. ( to avoid any vehicles thats coming parallel or to your side )

3) Single arrow mark on road two lines formation, and when there is split arrow markings ( two arrows, one pointing staright & other pointing either left or right ) should have single line formation.

Don't simply mug up the rules. Its for your own safety. Its how you should behave to avoid any accidents on real riding conditions.

All the best mate.:cheer: Progress can be slow or fast, but the main thing don't give up.

although i passed my 2B for the first time, almost every practical lesson i took 5 attempts before clearing. plus lots of revision practice before i can pull it off. so just keep going for practice and you will reach there. have faith.

now i going for my class 4 and next month i will be doing my 3rd attempt so i understand how you feel. class 4 is alot more expensive then 2B so it hurt both the heart and wallet. haha...

just don't give up ok? take care and post back with the good news:slurp:

Personally I think if you fail because you had too much points accumulated means there are things you can improve on or there are things that you are unsure of. If you fail by immediate failure, sometimes it's just out of bad luck but sometimes it's because you need more practice. I'm not a very confident rider, I failed my 2B once as I went off the plank. Was feeling nervous then, so you just need to make sure you know what you are doing and you've got the skills to finish the courses.

What I told myself is that if I fail this time round, I'd have to wait for a month or so and I really do not wish to wait. Be confident and be sure of what you are doing, don't rely on luck to pass.

I think its all about the flow. Get in the flow of checking your blind spots, the flow of doing the courses. I think that's how it worked for me. Don't be all that nervous, cuz I failed my 2A once when I was nervous, my calf was twitching and putting unnecessary input on the footpeg while I was doing plank, caused me to fall off.

Take a deep breath before entering any course to cool you down. Mirror, look front, blind spot look into the turn and turn.

Good luck! Don't give up!

Go for more revision if your budget allows you to do so. During the revision, remain focus on the checks and steps you need to do while moving off, riding, stopping, negotiating a course etc. If you can, talk aloud these steps or at least in your mind to reinforce the muscle memory so that you will know exactly what to do when you are about to enter your courses and turning. I take this 1 step further; going through these steps in my mind when I'm waiting for friends, just wake up or anytime at anywhere if conditions permits. That's mental rehearsal to further strengthen the test route routines. Just as Jtanc39 said, the routines becomes a clockwork in you.

Know your mistakes and the causes of them; then move on and don't think about them and dwell on thoughts such as why I can't do and that. Instead, think about the correct steps/routines so that you can do it better the next time.

Lastly, have confidence in all you do on test date. Sometimes, I feel the testers are also looking out at how confident you handle the bike and ride. Tell the tester that you can ride independently and safely by projecting that confidence in you when you move off, stop and going through the courses.

It is a challenge to control your nervous on the test day. Inhale deeply and do whatever to calm yourself. I couldn't sleep the night before...ha. And that nervousness nearly costs my licence during the test. My performance on test day was rather poor compared to my revision and all because of nervous.

Perseveres and knows that you can do it!

i failed many times before getting my 2b also. had to renew school membership some more! super depressing. but don't give up, already at TP stage, will make it one.

sometimes it's also about luck. take note of the mistakes and revise and try again.

Failed 2b 6 times I think. Passed 2A, 2, 3 first time. Don't get dispirited, but do try to proactively learn and improve on your mistakes. Discuss your failures with the instructors.

Ah ya, there are ppl who took theory test 3 times and all passed, just bcos tp failed and failed and failed. This kind of **** always got ppl kanna.

Anyway, ts already disappeared liao.

My frd failed 13 times. Kena 3 accidents in a month after he passed his license.

If you can pass the driving center's evaluation test, sure u can pass the TP test.

Do more revision on yr weak point. I remember I went for 2 revision course before my test.

Well at least you got to TP stage, i am still stuck at Lesson 1 after the 6th time. i cannot get the fear of turning/cornering out of me LOL! Any suggesstions to overcome this? especially the figure 8

by the way, it is a must to lean when turning/cornering, right? (sorry for noob question)

and what gear to use for the courses? gear 2?

Many thanks in advance!!

Relax and see where you want your bike to go to; your body will lean accordingly and bring you to that eye point.

Sitting posture is important too. Personally, I have to sit much closer to the tank, grip the tank, exert some force on the bike front and swing my hip slightly according to the direction of travel especially in the slalom and figure of 8. Of course, my techniques may be different from that of many others, due to my small size and light weight. Hence, you may have to keep practicing to discover your own techniques.

All the circuit courses have to be done in gear 2 except slope, plank and ebrake.

While moving, we lean left or right to turn, we don't steer. That's why our tires are round, not flat.

Ask the instructor to pillon you to get a feel :)

Posted

Got pillon before. Very scary! But after a while i ok liao, but that was 2nd lesson. Now 6th lesson do sharp turning, the feeling gone liao lol

Got try to relax and have my eye point but when come to the last stage of Lesson 1, i lost everything. Even the instructor also asked me that dont i feel it is a waste that i can do it at the outer circuit but come to do the figure 8 and crank course i just flop everything. Haiz, was so close to clearing Lesson 1 and go to Lesson 2.

Feel damn sissy sia, even zha bor also can do it >

If i practice with my bicycle, do you all think it is a good idea?

Posted

You can't. Considering bicycles tires are way thinner, high chance you will fall if you don't attain a certain speed before cornering.

Grip yr tank and sit further back a bit. Engage gear in 2 and look at where u are turning, at least 3 bikes ahead and turn yr handle bar. Lean on it and make the turn. Dont worry, if u fall, u are still safe in the school circuit.
