Okay, here's the product of about 20 hours from two persons over about 3 months of talking and talking and patiently waiting for when our off days from work coincide.

 

It's not 100% complete but we're rather proud of our creation here:

Thanks for the feedback guys! It is really our first time doing spraypainting. In taking out the plastic panels we found a lot of sloppy work on the part of my bike shop. Jury rigged wiring galore.

 

It's actually our third session painting the bike. The first was yellow base coat that was nice... for a day. Then it got very dirty. Second is fender art. Paper tape and art knife and lots of layering work. Precision labour. The 'eye' on the left and 'hair covering eye' on the right fender are handcrafted. Damned stressful work.

 

Third time was a fast and furious job on the side panels on Valentine's Day before I took my mechanic/friend and his lady out at night.

 

The "filthy rocket exhaust" smudges are deliberate, btw. We did the side panels like - lay panels on ground, anyhow layer - the blood red part was "inspired" by the fuel and 2T stains on the yellow base coat; yeah, bloodstains, then the black cos we had an xtra can of black.

Result - looks like it's burnt. It's my idea to have a paintjob that doesn't need maintenence. Infact it is looking better and better as the bike is weathered. I commute about 50-60km a day on the expressways.

 

Problem is with such a glaring paintjob I think twice of doing illegal back alley parking. Sure kena sabo eventually...
