Actually there is no need to fix it unless you everyday must full throttle to work/school. My bike is the second batch and i have also rode my friend's first batch.

The only problem when i ride his bike is when im running at about 110+ and want to wack more, i turn the throttle to the max position and a power cut will come in, if i turn it to the point just before the max position, the power cut doesnt come in. For wave, its better not to travel at more than 100 cos the bike is so damn light and unstable. somemore wave travel at more than 100 engine abit siong liao. Travelling at 70-90 is the best in my opinion for a smooth ride.

i juz bought a FY wave-i..

how do i know whether isit 1st or 2nd batch..

isit see by plate or engine serial no?..

wats da name of da EFI sensor dat needs to change n how much eh?

can anyone..

Good choice! Since you hear about the Wave-i problem but not necessary you will hit it. Just ride it as usual and post here again when you encountered problem.

My FZ plate wave-i s/n 00095xx no cut off problem. But the problem is it run too slow full speed only 95 km/hrs. One litter for 57 km.

Someone posted here said thje EFI cost ~SG$300.00. I also here from bike shop people said the EFI price is going down $100~$200 now for these big ike.

you can look through all the threads before this, pages and pages of it, take your time.

a average wave can travel 40-60km per litre. each time pump, about 3L, so can travel about 180km before going to the petrol kiosk again.

and suddenly i realise my FC is a little worrying...

taking distance i travelled from full tank 1 to full tank 2, divided by number of litres to get full tank 2:

3.18L -- 147.3km (46.3km/l)

3.30L -- 119.6km (36.2km/l)

3.13L -- 109.3km (34.9km/l)

this is kinda worrying right...

top speed ~70km/h (and lasts for like 1 min the most, cuz i ride in sch)

ave speed ~50km/h

when i bought the bike in mid/late jan, it was about 2837km mileage...

now it's early april, mileage is about 3300km...

have yet to change EO/any other things except pump air once in a while, cuz motordiam change EO tt time liao...

In the first place is the bike stock condition? If not must check where is modified.... Must be somewhere something wrong?

Topic : Open choke (throughout the night?)

Description : Does it affect anything?

********************************************************************

Hi all...

I'm staying in a hostel in one of the unis and I always park my bike at the substation downstairs...In the recent one or two months when I go to my bike in the morning to ride to lessons, I noticed that someone opened my choke...confirm isn't myself who opened it the night before cuz I dun have that habit...

At first I thought someone was playing with it and forgot to close it and it was an one-off thing, but this has happened quite a number of times since and even my bf's phantom also kena a few times...

Lots of construction work nearby...in case there's a link...

Noticed it's easier to start the engine (once or twice after turning the ignition on) compared to the slightly more times (about 5-6 times) when I open the choke WHILE/AFTER turning ignition on...

Of cuz, it isn't good to open the choke while riding, but does it affect anything (especially adversely) if the choke has been opened throughout the night?

Thanks for the replies!

Sounds like someone is going to steal your bike.

The choke is just a mechanical thing just to cover the carbrettor to allow more fuel less air into engine to ensure easier start. It doesn't matter if you leave overnight cos nothing will happen if the engine is not running.

If you ride with the choke on, the engine will consume a lot of fuel. And the bike loses power because of too much fuel in the engine combustion.

ok thanks for the information! but if you turn the throttle w/o engine on, the fuel still runs as per normal rite?

 yep the fuel will flow into the carburettor even when he engine is not running because gravity coz the fuel to flow downwards.

So it is advicable not to turn the throttle when the engine stop coz this might flood the engine which result in more difficult to start later on.

I think this apply to Wave-R only. Wave-S i got take out the fuel supply tube b4 and no fuel come out? Then i on the engine and the fuel pushes out. Was shocked and OFF the engine.

So the conclusion is I think Wave-S got a fuel pump dat pump the petrol out to the carburator when the engine is ON. While it is OFF it does not pump any petrol to the carburator.

Wave-R is using gravity to flow fuel to the carburator. Dat's why Wave-R got the ON/OFF for the petrol before coming in to the carburator. So it's just opposing of Wave-S. Totally different concept of supplying fuel..

I dun think Wave S got fuel pump.....Maybe u mean vacuum activated fuel line.

Means when the engine running the vacuum created in the combustion chamber will suck fuel into the carb.

When engine off, the one way valve in the fuelline/fuel tank will cut off fuel supply to the carb.

Cheers !
