Official Thread for DIY session and all Frequent Ask Question.

 

Lazy Sunday afternoon, i thought of doing a mini DIY session or a mini TCSS session. DIY alone will be boring, thus why not we do in a group ?

Welcome all rider to join in and share our knowledge.

I am sure it will greatly benefit everybody especially new riders

 

DIY Involve:

 

Basic Bike Inspection

Check Clutch

Check Brake Fluid

Check Battery

Check Electrical

Check Brake

 

Hazard Light

Horn

Flush Coolant*

Change plug

Check Engine Oil

Change Engine Oil

Clean Brake Caliper

Check Chain

Tighten Chain

 

 

and all other misc things you can think of!

 

Its free, but its DIY not DIFY (Do-It-For-You)

So, do bring your own equipment and parts if possible.

You are free to do whatever you like!

Mini DIY Round 1

For the 1st round, guess it'll be good to have the following :

 

Check Clutch

Check Brake Fluid

Check Battery

Check Electrical

Check Brake

Clean Brake Caliper

Change plug

Check Chain

 

The rest maybe too advance for 1st session for some?

Perhaps can add in how to tighten chain as well, since this is one of the most common things we need to do when servicing, other than spark plug.

 

For engine oil, can DIY and change them, but we need containers to contain the oil and dispose them. Heard ubi some bikeshop let you dispose the oil for free.

I can provide a common container for EO changing.

Used oil will be pour back to the empty bottle from your EO.

Oh yea, you need to dispose them off yourself

 

I can show your how to do it, but dont expect it to be a DIFY la!

Engine oil if i am not wrong unique motor sport got post one time saying they allow ppl to dispose engine oil proper there, so if there is used EO we might wanna consider disposing it there properly

How do you dispose EO properly? other than have to go back to motor shop

The best and most convinient to dispose of oil waste are still motorshops.

They have a barrel specially to collect oil waste for proper disposal.

Yes, you are right. To prevent any pollution to the environment, you may poured your used engine oil into one of the drums located outside Unique Motorsports.
