hi guys

Giv mi yr suggestion weather u tink class 2 sportsbike are worth buying. Rate in terms of performance, maintance cost, road tax, insurance( less sae 22 yrs old+- ), reliablity, spare availabitly.

I am current riding a super 4 spec 1. I wil b able 2 get class 2 nxt yr jan, bt unsure if i 1 to upgrade ant?

I am considering getting 600cc or 1000cc sportsbike. Probably R6 or R1. Old model it's ok. More towards the $$$.

I dun go to track. I love travelling.

ur travelling refering 2 local or overseas? if it's the former, IMO juz carry on with ur S4.

For now, juz take the risk and buy a cheap older class 2 bike. Try and feel the power. If u fall in love with it, save money, take ur time and browse ard for ur dream bike. The more u downpay, the lesser it hurts to pay ur monthly installments.

If by then u still feel its not worth it, juz sell it off n go back to 2a bike... :thumb:

thanx for yr suggestions. I guess tt is realli a gd way too...

jus came across this thread. i will like to tell u that u will love class 2 bikes, i jus bought r6'08 this june and ever since then i amazed at the 200cc different from my gsr400. the torque of the bike is awesome and will shrink ur balls if u r first time riding a class 2 sportsbike. i m a riding enthusiast, but mind u, be prepare to get some holes in ur pocket for petrol. i seriously think fuel consumption jumps a lot compare to 2a bikes. what i do is i still use gsr for transport to work and leave my r6 to weekends. this reduces my maintenance cost of r6 a lot. fyi im 23yrs old and 3rd party fire and theft just cost me 900 plus. you can get cheap insurance if u search hard enough. i bought mine r6 at Loois. i guessed u would have come up with decision of whether to buy 600cc after reading my post. :)

Yup.. I feel that if you are gonna get a Class 2 Bike.... Go all the way bro! 1000cc and up. 600cc is good too but for me I would prefer to take it to the max.

Ta-han for now man... And ride safe.

classs 2 is simplyyyyy magiccc.

seriouslly $ most important, must ask yrself this . if you have to tahan with current bike, when ur class 2,can you take it ? like many other say,if $ allow, go ahead with ur dreambike ,no regrets.

second is choosing what bike tt suits u, either for track or msia touring or just daily use. choosing wrongly a superbike in ur condition will frustrate you in traffic lights, cook you balls to medium done and not to mention under utilise the bike but choosing wisely in your condition will let u taste the torque ,the speed, the sheer power of ur rocketbike firing off like a bullet, the engineering genius of the bike when u bank into a corner etc, u be surprize the amount of time u used to travel is now faster. at least in my opinion. Happy choosing ;)

worth or not worth, its up to d individual.

interest n passion vs money factor is oways d case.

my advise is...touch ur heart n tink wit ur head.

dun buy sumtin for d sake of buying to b level wit others

when it will juz plunge u into financial trouble.

pai sae for late reply. I am passionate abt bike if nt i wun buy super 4 lor...lol...

But when i caluate the price of class 2 bikes, it wil b close 2 driving a car liao lor...then mine as well drive car better. No nd kena rain. Tt's jz my own opion.

Afterall i feel 400cc is quite fast in singapore liao. Unless it comes to touring wif class 2 bike then i feel slow.

Tt's y i am confused.[/quote

passionate riders ride through the heavy rain and the scorching sun, they choose to ride because they enjoy the adrenaline and wind. a passionate rider chooses his bike wisely, and for some.. if the colour of the bike they want isn't available, they'll wait for it. passionate riding is personal. :thumb:

Get both! =)

I'm a cantankerous lugubrious weirdo. Enraptured by stone walls. Demented by love. Disparaged by my own soul. Besieged by languor. Suffered from acute distress triggered by terminal boredom and elucidation of rhodonderons and deciduous seedlings. Searched for serenity amidst the chaos but failed miserably.

lolz if wallet thick enough get 1000cc bike lah looks cooler, better acceleration, top end , more stable, better braking etc

Also maintenance wise class 2 would be more expensive if u want to change parts compared to 2a , 2b

If not 2a or 2b okie already lah (u can still move from point a to b )

At the end of the day it’s a question of $ only lor

2B-KRR(SOLD)

2A-GSXR400(SCRAPPED),ZXR400(SOLD)

2-R1

3-TOYOTA CAMRY

matter of $ man. personally, we ought to try riding it once and it shud be enuf. after all that ups and downs (of riding an expesive class 2 ride), might wanna decide to downgrade.

4 wheels move the body 2 wheels move your soul

- Undertail exhaust. It was not the Ducati 916 (as may people think) that was the first production bike with such a design, but the NR750.

- Single-side swingarm. Actually, this was not a new concept on the NR750. But it was not a new concept on the Ducati 916 (again, as many people think) either! The RC30 race bike and 1988 Honda Hawk GT Had it!

Depends on ur daily travels. Point A to B. Why need a Cls 2? Passion for touring , track. well .. if you have the $$. Why not? End of the day if you are happy , not on tight budget , it's not a problem.

Ride Safe.

Hey I got the same tots like you too, and in the end I decided to keep my S4 and grab a

GSX-R at the same time. The maintenance for class 2 specially superbikes are much

more expensive than maintaining a S4. However, until now I'm satisfy with my 2 bikes,

class 2 for weekdays, class 2A for weekends! Cheers

Generally, I think it depends on your level of passion towards riding.

actually regarding the cost of a cls 2 bike, example cbr600 03-04, if you get it 2nd hand it can actually be cheaper for lets say a brand new S4? then in this case it will not be very expensive right? but how much difference in insurance must you pay? maybe that the expensive part. i heard from fren say below 30 yr old cls 2 sportsbike a year 2k? thats like throwing away a 2nd sp each year...
