By reducing the size of MP3, the quality is also descreased. For example CD Quality is 128kbps 44Khz Stereo.

 

You may want to change it to 96kbps 22Khz. There will be a very much decrease in size as much as half the size.

Can keep the smalping rate and just extract the chorus right? don;t think a drop in quality will happen.

I use Windows Movie Maker to edit and save as wma file. If wanna convert to mp3, I just open it thru itune and it'll do the coversion! Too lazy to go crack those "free" MP3 editing prog.

yup dude..if you want a smaller file just take the chorus then it'll be a smaller file..but if you want even small lets say your chorus part cut out is 2mb and smaller bringing the bit rate down will make it 0.5mb will affect quality of the song..just like those kids on Mrt playing lousy and noisy songs on the low end nokia hp..btw even high end nokia hp speakers some can't even take blasting of music..no hp was meant to, even my SE w550i I find it too soft..I'd rather blast music on my room's sound system..

long ago I used this program called "wavepad" dunno is it for your case..hmm and you've to try a few times to get the good quality (clear music/audible) for your ears or you'll get screwed up tones for yr hp dude..try http://www.downloads.com for all your audio pleasure (:

Audacity is a good audio tool for editing mp3 tracks. I've also used Cool Edit 96 before.

get adobe audition.. adobe bought cool edit and named it as audition.. used it since the cool edit days.. however, find ways to crack it urself..

audacity is still free because it is open source, pretty much like linux. it is very easy to use and has many abilities, one should try it out.

i use wavepad..the basic functions available for free are enough for the purpose of downsizing the size..simple to use..very convinient for me cuz i can bring ard the exe anywhere i go cuz i have it stored in my mp4 (of course it only runs on computers..)
