besides work...what language do you use with friends and family members?

chinese with parents.

anyway, depends on who the crowd is, i change my choice of words..

 

for example, frens who can talk c*** - vulgarities language

 

family - chinese language only unless i duno da chinese word

 

friends - those who are pro-english, i will use a lil pro-singlish.. if meeting for the 1st time, and they are foreigners, i will TRY to use proper english..

i use mandarin with friends and friends

if i use english, i will slow down in the conversation and i need time to translate it from eng to chi in my brain before speaking

mixture lo.. i can go out wif 1 group of freinds whom i speak diff language... turn left speak dialect turn rite speak chinese/english... depend on how close i am wif the person too... English is used usualli when i am workin

but for me..its predominantly english..at work..with my girlfriend..with my friends...at home...

 

not that i cant speak chinese or dialects lah..but most of the people around speaks english..

my favourite food is noodles

 

birds of a feather flock together lah...people that i can get along with are mostly english speaking mah..

 

not that i dont have chinese & dialect speaking friends lah..but not many..

 

and by the way..i got A2 for both english & chinese @ O levels...so my chinese not that lousy lah...

used to speak chinese with my grandpa..bt pass away liao.. nv speak to my grandma be4..coz she passed away long before i was born..

at work speak chinese with the chinese... tamil accent of english with the indian workers... wahahahahha
