Hey guys, anyone had an engine sputtering before?

Engine sputters at idle and low rpms..but feels normal after 4k..

Just got mine a month ago..could it be the coils and plugs?

Will overflow? Didn't know. Thought the cap like a seal? Super tight.

 

Yeah If pump too much will flow out from the bottom of the bike via the petrol excess tube.

 

I'm using 300V. $30 from planet. Reasonable pricing.

 

Quite cheap uh! Oil Filter how much? Still must add in workmanship?

Morning warm up not really leh.. Mostly during normal riding. At times. I did my value clearance at 40Kplus. Not affecting any way of riding too.

 

After valve clearance the ticking sound got reduce? Riding wise any improvement ? F/c? Lol.

I just fixed that too. Quite pricey around $110-$120 PER coil, we have 4 coils. All the best hehehe

Calbee has mentioned alr. I suggest you go to a reputable workshop to settle it!

Ignition coils dude. Check the resistance to see which one has failed.

 

Oh and btw, the ticking sound is the infamous Yamaha tick. My bike had it before valve clearance and still has it after i did my valve clearance. No engine issues or performance drawbacks.

 

Most of the guys in the yamaha R6 US forums also experience it and says its normal.

Oh. Cold start I have that sound. Quite loud. Hahaha. After warm up okay. My valve clearance was by my ex owner. My fc about 17-18/L. Slip on.

Firstly the ticking sound you hear when u start the bike in the morning is the oil pressure building up. Then it goes away. The softer ticking sound that goes faster as you accelerate is pretty much normal i guess. I've had for almost a year so far. Go google 'Yamaha Tick'. Some claim to have solved it, some claim to have never heard of it. Some bought the bike brand new and the tick was there from day one. I summarize by saying its a Yamaha signature sound.

Warming up ticking im okay with it. Main concern is whenever ride through wet weather , the tick become so obvious ! Super loud and clear LOL. The ticker accelerates together when I throttle.

After some dry run , the tick goes away again. Just wondering why will the tick become so loud when riding through wet weather.
