if you take a loan from a bike shop... normally they will ask you for a downpayment of 2k - 3k and pay the rest with monthly installments for a period of time.

2)What is the criteria to be able to take up the loan?

you will need a guarantor singaporean above the age of 21.

3)What is the roughly % of interest nowadays?7%?

that depends whether you are getting a first hand bike or second hand bike. normally, interest rates for first hand bike is 4 - 5% per annum.

4)Is the % of the interest if loan over a longer period of time or will it be the same just that the interest amount adds up to be more?

it will be the same

should be 7yrs if im not wrong

1) nowadays most bike shop only need $2-3k downpayment for brand new bikes, and then you can loan the remaining amount.

 

2) salary of above $2k + guarantor's salary of above $2k. sometimes can be flexible when they die die want your business. (my friend is a NSF also can get loan)

 

3) new bikes are abt 5%, depending on shops.

 

4) same interest % is used across the years of the loan period.

 

5) usually 5 or 6 years, depending on shop.

 

6) if $15k, 7%, 6yrs = $15,000 x 0.07 x 6 = $6,300 interest.

therefore (15,000 + 6,300)/72 = $295.83 installment per month.

 

 

 

 

 

can you imagine that your interest over a 6 year period is 42% of your principle sum??!!!

Went for a short ride with Pauche & 30 odd bikes to Johor makan only, every traffic light must do neck-stretching exercise liao 'coz ache. Lao liao!

 

Hats off to riders like this lady on a red, small scooter - can follow the rest of the bigger bikes well. There's this lady who rides a GSXR 1K oso! Fierce!

 

On return journey, 4 of us (me, Avery, Roy & another TL1000 guy) probably went too fast & after turning left, don't see others behind liao. But we had fun blasting down NSH at 200 km/h. Midnight wind damn cold 'coz I wear T-shirt niah.

some shops calculate as yr1 4% yr2 5% yr3 6% yr4 7%.. so if dey say interest is 3%. don jus trust them.. ask properly.. every bike shop chop pple.. jus dat dey see b4 dey chop.. u dunnoe anithin sure kena chop.. dats how dey earn money.. so better ask properly and ask someone who knows to go down wif u..
