guys last track day, i complained that the r6 brakes wasnt braking properly. was like braking 50m ahead of every turn. it never occur to me that there is something wrong with the braking system till fat di spotted the brake disk turning purplish blue. i was thinking suspension setting gone wrong.

i was still using the stock brake pads. when i removed the brake pads to check yesterday, it was shiny blue tint surface. very smooth. i checked on r6-forum.com and they mentioned the stock brake pads wont be able to take the heat torture on track. so, the brake pads went through a heat treatment.

so guys, all track junkies here, have ur pads changed to HH rated. or end up like very slow last track day.

that is why it is so important to use a good set of brake pads...yamaha oem pads are HH compound but i think that it cant withstand the heat cycle like aftermarket pads...what happens is just like dropping a drop of water on a red hot piece of metel...the drop of water just bounces off...alot of ppl dont see the importance as they think that they are still slow but rem guys, its a habit that you cultivate...get use to good brake pads early and learn how to control then...i dont think its a super expensive price to pay and whole lot better then when you reach yr braking points and realise that you dont have any brakes...there are alot of good pads like EBC and BRAKING...i personnally use Braking and am loving it...use good pads once and i'm sure you never turn back...

is it advisable to have two brake pads per calliper just like the new 07R1?

in terms of braking distance which is good?

Totally Agree, the bike tankslaps so bad on the NSHW at high speeds, because of the road, but on track the bike needs no damper, also because the track road is that good. So it good to get a damper for the road, track session set damper to soft can already, so you get feedback from the front.
