hey guys, i got some enquires to ask.

I'm planning to get a change and intend to go for r6.

i search and found tat ... r6 06 and 07 has no difference..

anyway... i might be getting it.

but i would like to know which or where is the best place to get it ??

may i know the machine price???

cos i might be settling it in full. and how much is for the insurance for a 23. 4yrs riding experience.

thanks for all .

A new R6 is around $20K, maybe a bit more by now. I am riding an '05 that I picked up for a good price. Consider a one year old bike with low miles. Then someone else takes the first big hit of the depreciation. That is what I did when I bought my bike. You save on insurance after the bike is one year old as well.

Check the shops at Bukit Merah and Ubi. Shop around for the best deal.

errm.. question again !!!

so if i get the 06 model.. will it be cheaper ??? or it will still be the same just afew hundred peanuts cheaper than the 07 model.

i need help ! =p

if u intend to get an 06, u r talking about 2nd hand. then it will be a little cheaper.

the 07 has no other upgrades other than a corrected tachometer.

so it means tat shop don't have anymore 06 in stock ?

and what's the manufacturer fault ?? eg, honda with the magnetic coil problem.

heard tat the stock slipper clutch ain't tat good?

do u guys equip with aftermarket slipper?

or retune the slipper ?

Posted

does not mean no stock....but chances of getting 06 quite slim.

there was a 9%error in tacho reading. actual engine redlines at 16.2krpm. but the gauge shows 17.5k. but there was no mechanical defect in machine.

stock slipper clutch aint that good. some factory RACE teams use STM slipper clutch. for road use dun bother. low budget track riders remove a spring from the slipper clutch to give more slip.

Just bring to your workshop... they'll know what to do!

Follow the manual stated amount, it will not be wrong, neither are the shops that follow the manufacturer specs. But it may not be optimal for those at a fussier level.

When I used the recommended amount (VFR/00R1/03R6/06R6) I encountered an oil level that is fully filled or a dipstick level way pass the H mark. Didn't bother me till I found the air-box unit stained with pecks of EO. So what is after the air-box unit? --> air-filter.

Too little below the L mark, itself answers why it is bad. Too much is not wrong or extremely detrimental, but don't make logical sense for when the excess EO to dirty the airbox/air-filter, not to mention a left over of less than 500ml of EO that not contributes enough for the next oil change.

For DIY (06R6), 2.45~2.5l with oil filter goes well with a 1/2(hot)~3/4 (cold) mark without any stains my my course servicing. Works great for 2 EO change with filter with exactly 5 bottles.

In the case of the 03R6 2.45~2.5l with oil filter change instead of the recommended.

In the case of the VFR 2.8~2.85l with oil filter change instead of the recommended 3.2l. Didn't waste the 3rd bottle.

But if you stick to your own workshop as fruitcake recommended, they are correct in general as most likely they will follow manufacturer specs. But if you prefer to use the amount you desire, some of the shops are great to charge you by how much more you use for next non-full bottle.

The above are findings (EO stains) after using recommended EO. The amount of EO I determined to use are by self testing of EO level from 1/4 mark cold, and weekly checks of airbox unit & air-filter. What amt of EO is comfortable (never below the EO mark that is :cheeky: ), its your final call! :thumb:

Thank You.

Manufacturer specs are :-

Without oil filter cartridge replacement 2.4l

With oil filter cartridge replacement 2.6l

yup...2.5l with filter is safest in general! :thumb:

Thank You.
