Fellow mentors, is the R607 gear, quite difficult to shift up or down or its just my illusion? And anyone ever service their bike at Unity? How was it? Thank you very nice!

The 2006 & up R6 models tends to shift much slicker with a lower viscosity oil (eg. 5W40, 5W50), from low to high rpm ranges. This applies to hard-riding on b-roads, track & NS-highway. But note that at extended high temp operations such as start-stop traffic & jams, it tends to get more difficult to shift.

What is your riding scenerio, maybe it will help you choose the viscosity better.

I serviced steering cone bearings & changed tires before in Unity on a VFR. Attentive job I would say. Apart from that, no other comments as all servicing is done in-house.

Thank You.

Yup start/stop condition can cause the rough gear shifting..initial mineral oil oso cause be the cause..but synthetic oil too break down in original state due to heat and wear..at high speed/track riding u don really notice it..think its bearable.. Abt Unity i really recommend them...the shop juz do bike servicing.accessories(not much) plus race mods,no bike sale's nonsense.. But do have patience as its a 2 men show mechanic plus their engine oil options are limited..but i'm sure Ah xiong can be reasonable wit u if bringin ur desired oil.. Plus they are in charge wit THE Doctor DOL and mine race prep bike plus some other fella MSS riders bike..So far i can vouch for their work, All :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Up!!!

I second to your view too Rein. Sometimes one have to weigh between quality service & aftersales against pure cheap price. I rather pay slightly more and not see bad faces or arguements. So far Ah Xiong along with other shops filled me fill me with that. :thumb:

Thank You.

hi guys, which engine oil do u guys recommend for R607? Used to use maxima extra on my super4 but not sure if it works as good on R6... :help:

hi guys, which engine oil do u guys recommend for R607? Used to use maxima extra on my super4 but not sure if it works as good on R6... :help:

Both the Extra & Ultra works with the 2006 & up R6, just that me & ANR_Impex find that the Ultra (5W40 & 5W50) gives a slickier gear shift & much better response with insane rpms but with a noiser drivetrain noise, but tends to have slight effort in shifting only when stuck in prolonged jams, hence required some pre-load on your gear shift lever.

The Extra gives a smoother & quieter ride.

Thank You.
