Yes, it does make a difference... Some ppl like it snappy, alittle squeeze and the anchor drops in and some like it far and gradual, needs quite an amount of depression before the bite comes in.

If not, his brake pads fades fast...

ic.. i suppose it does feel abit diff when the lever is set nearer or furthur from the throttle..

becos my fren whose ridin the same model r6 as me.. his lever is set far.. and i onli have to squeeze a lil b4 the brake starts apply.. less freeplay

whereas for me.. mine is set nearer to the throttle.. more freeplay and need more squeeze.. before the brakes start to realli bite..

but i think by reducing rotating mass compared to stationary mass is more beneficial. If u dun believe u try tat on a bicycle, change to a carbon wheelset and u know wat i mean. i been using carbon wheelset to race on bicycles for 5 yrs alredy.

U are right there..reducing rotating mass is better but I was refering to other parts like CF fairings, fender, mud guard, frame stay, full system exhaust and stuffs like that.

Went to HKL for custom mapping, even Ah Xiong noticed the extra buzz coming from the bike from mid range onwards..he recommended loosening all the engine mounting screws and tightening it back.

I have something to share..about full system, pc 3, custom mapping and relation from cost to hp gained.

Stock R6 08 : 105hp

R6 08 with Leo Vince EVO II Full System + GYTR(YEC) Air Filter + PC III : 108hp

R6 08 + LV Full Sys + GYTR Air Filter + PC III + Custom Mapping : 113hp

LV Full Sys : $2100

GYTR(YEC) Air Filter : $130(Ebay bargain) Retail for $180

PC III + Mapping : $700

Total : $2930

Conclusion : It costs nearly $3K to gain 8hp :faint: Torque increased from 41ft/lbs(stock) to 43ft/lbs. On the bright side  mid range is greatly improved. My bike is a completely different animal now, and I'm loving it tearing thru the streets with the engine in mid range. Feel more punch then before. On Monday, will bring my bike to PG and see what it feels like on the track.

Good job from Ah Xiong and HKL Racing as a whole.. :thumb:

I have not got it fixed. Its only when I got to 6K rpm onwards..I really need to test ride someone else R6 08 and compare.

I came from a 1000RR down to R6..and the way the R6 rip thru the tacho doesn't feel as smooth as my 1000RR did.

Even at top speed or I ever ride constantly at 250km/hr to 290km/hr from Pagoh to Gelang Patah, the vibrations from the 1000RR isn't as bad as the R6 climbing from 140km/hr upwards..haiz!!

should this be normal? seems dat most 08 riders are experiencing this "mysterious buzzing sound". . .

dun noe whether the rest of the 06/07 riders have this problem too. .

i've check wif fren that took out the 1st batch of 08 & no problems so far till now. . . .

Hey Pple...

Can i get ur comments abt going to Yamaha agent for service(HL)?

I've heard cases where new R1&R6 riders had some internal problems with their bikes and its not caused by the rider but maufacturing problems, and brought their bikes back hoping to get a warranty, but HL would give a Warranty for it. Is this happening very often?
