hi all, just want to check with all the R6s. which year model is the best in terms of performance? saw somewhere that '10 will have a longer endcan to compensate the power lost in '09 model. but personally i think that '07 and '08 model looks the best! the reason i'm asking is coz i am considering which bike to get before getting my class 2. So, please don't :gun: me okay ! :cheeky:

hi guys i need you help..my r6 2000 model keeps dying at gear 1 when clutch in but at neutral ok can start and idle..i checked the clutch cable its okay..i was wondering whether the cause is lack of engine oil? i open the e/o cap and looks like used up?..could that be the problem?..previous owner said change 3 months back but looks like more longer than that after opening it..hope to hear from you guys need your help badly!..thanks bros...

might be your clutch housing go check at planet motorsport...........

Opps! i mean 08/09 model looks best. i'll like to know more bout the performance diff between 06/07 and 08/09 before deciding which one to get. anyway, how much downpayment at least is recommended for buying a class 2 bike?

juz get an 08/09... price wise not so ex...... many owners selling their r6... u got so many choice.... afterlife sellin n double brotherz sellin..... buying an r6 no matter wat yr it is, it still a great bike.... no matter how gd da performance is.... its whether u dare to use it to da fullest...my advise is to buy somethin in ur own budget..... then mod ur r6......

juz my opinion...

bros.. how bout maintenance wise? coz i know some bikes their diff year made could cost high maintenance.. i understand that modding your own bike will give you better satisfaction than just buying one.. thats why i am considering being the 1st rider for my bike.. but coz my dad is not one that prints notes and make gold bars.. so i have to be careful in choices.. so that is why i was asking these questions.. hopefully they could help me to get more constructive feedbacks or information that i need.. eg things like 08 have fuel save technology however 07 has reported lesser coils being burnt etc etc... no offence !~

basically almost the same.maintainance wise? sportsbike so expect to spend much.see ur budget bro. theres no "fuel saving" in sportsbikes so if u think u can manage it, then go for it but if u think its troublesom, think more abt buying a sportsbike.gd luck bro! :thumb:

bro, thanks for your feedback. but can i know other than slight exterior changes in 06/07 with 08/09 model, are there any changes internally as well? like higher horsepower or maybe like GSXR with mode changing etc etc.. or even things like nicer speedo blah blah ~ like my s4 spec 3.. compare to spec 1 got led tail light.. and vtec opens diff rpm etc etc..

well knoobie, im nt an expert la but from reviews from other experiance riders the 08/09 has more compression and the intake system is better thus a lil better midrange.im nt tat experiance so i think both like the same hehe :) but in da end R6 is a high rev bike so "fun" starts when u wack the throttle in each gear.

comfort level? hehe its a track bike so for me its nt tat comfortable like other sportsbikes.on the track? u can ask the racers here to give u advise

well, i do agree that buy bike goes by interest. but not entirely. if lets say 07 model tends to have more problem than 08. then why would i want to buy 07? its just an example.

also, buying bike is something that costs and commitment. i think that one should sit down and try to gather some info on the diff year models before purchasing one. for an instance, super4. which has so many diff models. but they're all super4.

I hope you understand where i come from. i'm really trying to understand more bout the bike and not just some people that posts thread like "should i buy a tourer or sportsbike" kinda thread. i'm not asking people to make decision for me to begin with.

my ulterior motive is to make sure i know what i'm buying before paying for it. you would also agree with me coz you won't want someone in the end buying a r6 and expecting it to have the power like r1 and in the end keeps complaining bout the bike you have right?

no offense. just felt that no one still really get my intention of asking these questions.

i like the idea of joining the r6 outing. but currently, i am quite tied up with work and other commitments so i doubt i am able to attend it. thanks for offering anyway. personally, i would also hope to turn up at the meeting with my own r6 so i won't be the odd one out! :cheeky:

just get the 09 1 la...

better in all ways..

yamaha improves the bike every year.. so 09 should be with lesser problems and more delivery...

thats a reason for each years launch.. better then the previous yea..they wouldnt want to come out with the same specs each year...

Yup,doin ur homework on wat u wanna get/buy/borrow/loan is definately great..

So u don mind the looking back, the whole 373 pages back dated R6 Thread for ur homework lah..:angel::angel:

On my own noted..

Great bike for me might be sucky to u..

Best to have on board feel..

Personally i find the 06/07/08/09 bike sucks to be ridden on the street..

Its hot, bike kinda sluggish on the low RPM(esp on the 6k below..)

so to enjoy it u have to ride it on the high..

Singapore u wack on the high RPM..have to keep look out for uncle lah..

Bike posture also not favourable to the street..not to mention touring..

U gonna get a sore back if u wanna try..

But unleash it to the Track..

POWWWWww!!!!

U be profound by the bike abilities, power & u actually will be amaze that u find its a user friendly bike on the track to go FASTZZZ!!!..

if u know ur track riding lah..khekhekhekhe:P

Maintenance ah..

Juz set ur standard wat ur periodic maintenance schedule..

Since u LOVE to quote Super 4..I suppose u own one of maybe a few..

Then i guess u have a maintainence schedule ritual..

Then stick to that..should be same..

Engine oil also can use same..

wat u reap is wat u sow..

Use higher grade better feel, lower grade less feel or performance..

I bet u know this..

U did not ride KupChai then jump to sportbike ride??

So should be the same..

Every Brand machinery fail, get damage, will be weared out..

So every changes, upgrades or replacement is a learning point for the user..

Other than that u wanna talk wat cheap, wat good, wat reliable..also no point..

Skali u buy brand new..ur sway get "Monday or Friday" bike(Old Grandma Thoughts)..sway,sway ur engine KONG..also no point B I T C Hin..say new bike no good..

Know ur utilisation, get ur MULLA($$) ready, get the bike ur choice,

get ur gears,Then lets get EXCITING on the Track..khekhekhekh!!

My 72 Cents Opinion.!:p
