what i meant by that is that they may be from the first few batches of the underseat fz6 that was sold when the bike was launched way back in 2003.

yes there is. the full naked one is available at a slightly cheaper price than the half fairing one. but if u r looking at getting a new one, my advise is to wait till next year cos yamaha is changing the design for the 2007 fz6, the current design has been ard for the past 3 years.

wow wee has this been confirmed? any ideas on where to get some pics for the new design? only applicable for fz6 or also fz1.

there are no availble pictures of the new fz6 to date, but expect yamaha to up the horses like what they did for fz1 and maybe changes to the fairing and exhaust. if you can't wait, the 06 fz6 is the most current version of fz6, it comes in blue n red and has a black frame n engine casing. there's also an ABS option of the 06 fz6 but don't know if that is available locally.

I'm considering fazer6 s2 but the thing is, i have a regular pillion (she's ard 1.6m) and i realize that the fz6 has a piece of plastic sticking out at the side where the pillion's calf should be.. will that post as a problem? will the pillion feel uncomfortable or get cramps over a long journey?

 

also, i hear there's a lack of power in the mid-range.. how bad is it? will we lose in terms of acceleration at traffic lights to litre cars? plus, at which rpm will the bike lack power?

so far no complains from my wife about the plastic. As for acceleration no worries about losing to cars. The valve opens at 9k rpm which is at the mid range.. so no lack.. but when reach 220km/hr it will feel hard to procee. top i tried is 230+.

If u r looking for fast bike den FZ6 is not for u. But if u r looking for a relex & good fuel bike with reasonable power in sg road..this is a choice

Dun worry abt the sideboards(the plastic sticking out)..

Been to Genting wif my pillion (abt the same height). No complaints!!

Fz6 for tame while Fz1 is pack wif raw power. up to personal prefrence. i prefer Fz6 cuz fuel consumption is much more better & now with the increase of petrol price.. horrible man !!

Tyres : Original, still pretty new till now

 

Accessories : Only H&B panniers

 

Fuel Consumption : Varies between 19-20km/l (lighter right hand, lighter riders & pillions might get better FC)

 

Road type : 70% expressway

 

Pillion : Almost all the time

 

Riders weight : 95

 

Kopi sessions with peers : All the time =D

who said fz 6 not fast? try 6th gear drag until 10000 rpm.. to reach that same speed on a 400 need to wait until the wrist cramp..

Well.. bcos it is not a sports bike, its speed is quite reliable...

it ever happen to me that at gear 5 i got 220++km/hr. near redline..

it was an accidental case..

Wats the maximum mileage that the fz6 can go when running under reserve fuel tank? Any idea??
