Hmmm, I noticed that Audio House has great promotions for LCD and plasma TVs. My only gripe is that every time I go to the place, they always say that the TVs on promotion are out of stock or sold out and then recommend me another brand that is more expensive.:sian:

Anyways, I saw a 50 inch LG LCD TV on sale for $1818 at Courts Toa Payoh. Now waiting for COMEX to come to town to do more recceing before getting my big screen TV for my new house before Hari Raya...

Audio House is telling the truth dude, 50" for 1818 is a steal other than the fact the brand is (L)ou (G)y.

I checked out Courts Tampines and they are selling the same 50 inch LG plasma for $1788. Comes with 3 years warranty and free wall mounts and installation. Unless COMEX has a better deal than this, high chance I'm getting this LG plasma TV model for my hall this weekend...:lovestruck:

1788 is cheap as well but are you sure you want a plasma? Wall mount and installation is cheap actually.. Warranty is important, see if they allow you to upgrade it to 5 years warranty or not ;)

I finally settled on the 50 inch LG plasma TV at Tampines Courts. My new TV will be arriving this Friday. Wall mounting and nstallation will be done by the agent on Saturday morning...

Nice :slurp:, share some pics dude ;) Make sure they use a water level to align your TV's balance.

Ps: 50" can be mounted by a single dude if he's strong enough.

Well, I've used the same brand Palladine for plasma and LCD and when I used my DVD recorder on both TVs, the plasma is definitely more richer in colour and clearer. The warranty on the new LG TV is 3 years only. Considering the fact that I bought it at that price, I'm more than happy if it can last for 3 years before it kaputs on me...:p

The TV is great. Only gripe is I may have made a mistake when I asked the guy to mount it higher. Before he mounted the TV, the base point of the TV he marked on the wall looked kinda low so I told him to raise it higher. Now that the TV is mounted, I feel that it is now mounted a tad high. I have to look up a bit when viewing it while seated. Damn. Should have just let the guy fix it at the standard height...:sian:

Hmm how much higher is it from the original recommended height? Do you have a stopper plastic at the bottom of the TV's rear? The Philips ones had those you can remove so to tilt the TV downwards. If its that straining to your neck, best to adjust the height asap as it'll injure your neck in the long run to whoever is viewing. Don't forget if you've kids then they gotta be even lower! :thumb:

There is an electrical fair being held now at Hall 5 Singapore Expo. Started on 23.10.09 Friday and will end on Sunday 25.10.09. I went there yesterday to get a new DVD recorder. As I expected, my AKIRA 160GB HDD DVD recorder went kaput on me just after the warranty ended. Bought an LG DVD recorder for $379 there...

Nope. No such stopper. Anyways, it isn't THAT much higher from the recommended height. Only about 2 inches higher. Anyways, it's not really THAT bad. Gotten used to it liao...:cheeky:

My 42 inch Palladine plasma TV just went kaput on me after close to 3 years. It suddenly cannot be turned on. Guess I have to call the service centre to take it away and have it fixed next month...:sian:

Can someone recommend me a good technician to come to my house and help me repair my TV? Its a Toshiba Regza. Just for your info. the problem is that the reception keeps flicker as if i did not pluck in the antenna cable properly. I suspect the port is faulty. Please refer me to a good TV repair man. thx.

Can't believe that for the last 5 months, I could have H-D and DTV channels on my TV. My brother-in-law set it for us when he visited.

I was watching the fireworks at Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong earlier. Very sharp. If it wasn't HD, I think the fireworks won't be spectacular.

 @gohjohan, its very common that end users like you and I don't know we could get the best out of the box. Sometimes its input used, sometimes frequency, sometimes cables.

I still don't see anything spectacular about the HD channels via SCV.

 happen to see this thread when I was searching for an old thread :p

Now that I'm back in SG, was watching the National Day celebration on HD5. Quite sharp

Indeed, I didn't get much of my box since I didn't know much about it.

seeing that a korean brand HP has already come up with a 3D HP (no need for glasses), its not long now for megastores to slash prices on their current 3D tvs (glasses are a must) what a freaking hassle... see blue movie also must put on glasses (scared kena sore eyes is it?)

looking for drz parts, any parts will do!
