I wonder where I can get a good range of "tropicalized" jackets, and not those $500 portable saunas.

Dainese G-Air. Very cooling. Can feel air on your arms just by waving them around with the jacket on. Not much difference on the road between wearing and not wearing the G-Air.

Available at JR at $290. Many sizes, gurantee to find one that can fit.

Hi all.... i'm new here! Any idea where we can mend motorcycle jacket? I bought one last year and it's torn on certain parts of the clothing. Is there any shops that do the mending? Thanks for the advice.

Thanks man! It's just another bike. Someone told me about this forum, so here I am. Was also wondering if there will be any touring to Thailand/Malaysia organised here. :bounce:

I have a fully armoured waterproof touring jacket, but it's bulky as hell. Saved my skin when I binned my GSXR late one night near my house. Went flying over the bars when I hit a massive mudpile left by some a55hole contractor in the middle of an unlit road. Landed with my arms extended, but thanks to a decent pair of gloves and the elbow armour in my jacket, I didn't feel a thing. The only painful thing was seeing the bike afterwards...

I'm thinking about looking around for a less bulky sports jacket. It must be waterproof - it saves me the trouble of having to carry a rainsuit. With a waterproof jacket, I only need to store waterproof rainpants and/or booties under the seat... so when the skies start to piss down, it just takes a 3 minute stop to get dressed up and get back on the move.

Guys,

Any one recommendations for non leather jackets besides the Dainese G-Air that coolman suggested? I've seen really cool looking jackets in the Clover site (http://www.clover.it). Some models are fully waterproof but, allow you to remove the water proof layer by unzipping it - pretty useful in our hot weather. Just wondering if anyone's used anything similar to that.

I'm using Dainiese..D stone material..heard it is as lasting as leather jacket..water proof wise..been drown in heavy rain but i still didnt get wet.

i use a AlpineStars corduro jacket with CE armor inbuilt into the shoulders and elbows.

yes it does get hot in the hot sun but it does stop yuor skin getting cancer from the sun...and stops the 'burning' sensation when in the sun.

those with wind breakers......thats what their name suggest....stops the wind.. thats all...jack shit protection when you go down.

strange....how come no one mentioned Hit Air......not branded, but saves lives

you weight the priorities lor.....whether ur life is worth enduring the weight and worth investing in a jacket like this lor

:D

a lot of things to consider when buying a jacket besides the price and weight....like whether the inner lining will cause abrasions...etc etc

You should check our Joe Rocket gears. They have got some very good hot weather mesh jacket with armour and abrasion resistance. Check out http://www.joerocket.com and read the testamonial written by some of their customers. Amazing (if its true!).

You can buy them from http://www.newenough.com for as low as USD69....but only if you have friends coming back frm the US coz they dun ship overseas. :weep:

Anyhow, check em out and see for yourself.....

yiPeeE!!!

i bought my very first Dainese jacket today! Got the 'Portland'.

Rode home from Serangoon and felt like driving a car! No wind and very comfy though a little warm. But it's not as warm as the yellow raincoats in driving skools though..... :D

Got the 'portland' rather than the 'skorpion' that is currently on sale. The 'portland' looks better and feels better. Design-wise it's better too...keke.....

One thing about the G-Air is that it's just good for protection for speeds up to less then 40 - 50 km/hr i guess....judging from the mesh material i doubt it would hold if you ever end up on the floor (chOi!).....touch wood....no wood touch plastic keyboard.........

also, the G-Air is not waterproof.......got lobang how to keep water out? :?
