Since this is a Discussion thread, is it possible to elevate the trips to a singular or a consolidated thread for the trips to gain attention on the stickies?

Makes it look good (less clutter) and organized (rather than with two trips opened in a single thread).

thats quite some adventure spirit you have there...

first thing first... are you used to riding on the north south highway...? even though malacca is only roughly 300km away, you must be confident in your skills in order to complete the journey... the nshw is dangerous because of cars crashing at very high speeds (usually at first lane), unmarked unlighted obstacles on the road shoulder (avoid riding on the road shoulder at night unless you are experienced enough, or avoid riding at night altogether)

the trip can be completed in one day, and one day should be quite sufficient provided that you skip the theme park... you would need to prepare a map since no one would help you to find specific places, ringgits, spare parts for your bike, r*** (rain) gear, brake disc lock (if possible)

make sure that you have serviced your bike thoroughly... you do not want to waste $300-$400 for calling a tow truck... and please have sufficient sleep the day before... allocate more time for sleeping since it might be a few hours before you actually fall asleep...

all the best for your trip there!

thanks vidak

Where do I acquire the malacca map from? Malaysia embassy?

and what kinds of parts should I need to get from my bike shop?

lol no... you can get the map from bookshops like kinokuniya... or off the internet if you know where to find...

parts such as spare spark plugs, bulbs, fuses would be essential...
