how much in spore u did overrall bill ?

 

anyway, I have this sympotms and did overhaul.

 

Yamaha spark is famous for weak crankshaft bearing.

 

I did overhaul in 67,000km

 

If u fere to previous pages, i have included photos and full details.

 

For those wanna know more refer to my posting in last pages since March 2008.

 

i did it for $450 at 74,000km. Change a lot of internal parts

 

piston set

gear changer

timing chain

conrod

crankshaft bearing

tensioner

valves

clutch bush

gear starter

 

plus towing and plug, engine oil. now i am currently doing running in. ride 60km/h till 500km.

 

bike start easily but idling timing is high and irregular. should i change idle jet and main jet?

I did again to melaka solo riding

 

Same bike yamaha spark z 110cc - 5 yrs old bike

 

My bike has spinned the meter / odometer

 

Now it is more then 100,000km workhorse

 

ok.

 

I went to melaka not for holiday but for eat eat eat eat eat eat eat eat eat

 

I did not took photos and never overnight

 

I went in morning and return at night.

 

I also bought home a lot of durian dodol and coconut dodol

 

below my travel agenda

cannot go above 80km/h

 

yamaha spark z carburator well known for this problem

 

mine also hit this problem at 90,000km

 

just change the main jet number code 105

 

mine is made in japan directly imported from Kuala Lumpur factory. Took 1 week to arrive to JB and then collected at the yamaha stokis

RM25 per piece in yamaha genuine with holograph packaging.

 

then after change main jet problem resolved.

 

bike fuel remains good

at 90km/h to 100km/h constant speed for 4.5 litre tank can get 1 litre 46km.

3. Changed handle rubber boosh – 4pcs because handle shaking.

4. Redo 100% double side foam tape for cowling vibration.

Labour charge = RM15

Rubber boosh from skudai spare part shop RM5 for 6 pcs

Changed front brake switch cause when press brake lever no rear brake light = RM8

After 21.000km usage of RK chain sprocket set, removed the bottom cover cause – chain tension and noisy. Kedak kedak sound.

Then on 15/7/09 rectified the noise root cause. Actually, after Mcpherson changed the Duro tire, foreman did not insert carefully the spring + brake show. The spring dropped and stuck inside brake drum. The spring bent. Brake lining gave loud squeaking and caused chain drive rear noisy. So foreman in Seng Fong, changed the spring and cleaned drum = RM2

No more chain tension. CHAIN DRIVE EXCELLENT.

Exhaust gasket original Yamaha made in Japan = RM30

Clutch bowl gasket = RM5

Welding exhaust at exhaust muffler area cause got many holes

and air/smoke leaking= RM15

Painted exhaust with high temp. paint

Changed to original Stanley bulbs (2x) front headlight = RM10

Changed RHS socket bulb = RM5

Changed from Osram halogen bulb to normal Stanley bulb because of high temperature heat the bulb socket copper gets melted and got hole.

 

Labour charge for entire all clutch set = RM55

End

 

20/7/09; Meter 97880

Seng Fong

Changed timing cam chain + sprocket + gasket

Changed shell 4T oil 20w-40 = RM15

Labour charge RM25

 

3/8/09; meter : 99144

Seng Hoe

 

12:30pm till 2:30 pm

 

Body Screw – RM5

Yamalube API SJ, 20w-50 RM15

Labour for entire body, fairing , exhaust work = RM10

 

Went there after HL and Mr.Mazmin suggested.

 

To find out why engine roars and tremendous vibration.

 

mechanic tested riding and said - comes from engine “body screw “

 

Total 3 engine body screws removed , washed with petrol and lubricated with chasis grease.

And also removed main chasis body screw and washed and lubricated with chasis grease.

 

One engine body screw broke while tightening. Replaced genuine yamaha RM5

 

Put tyre tube inside both cowling for vibration protection.

 

Readjust the exhaust centre point of gasket muffler.

 

Retighten all nut screws, nuts and bolts.

 

Put rubber boosh for nut which is meant to hold both cowlings.

 

Cleaned air filter

 

Changed engine oil

 

Tested in TPE 120km/h - OK la

 

Good clean job by mechanic. Very patient and answers all questions.

Correct instruments /tools used.

He skipped his lunch to complete my bike works.

 

Total = RM30

Seng Hoe

 

Adjust tappet using gauge :-

Valve exhaust 0.24mm

Valve intake 0.28mm

 

Change 4T oil shell 20w-40 = RM15

Redo one more time anti vibration for cowling.

Front light adjust earth wire cause imbalance light from dual headlight.

 

No labour charge. All Free.

25/8/09; Meter: 00187

Battery 100% spoilt. Cannot use electric start and all lighting/horn weak.

 

Changed SHINKYO battery dry cell at Bkt. Merah. = SGD 35

 

Means:

First battery from factory, Siam – liquid base last from Dec 04 till Oct 07 = 2 yrs 10 mths

Second battery dry cell, Mah Motor last from Nov 07 till Aug 09 = 1 yr 10 mths

Checking why engine produce heavy loud noise ?

 

Adjusted tappet with gauge + timing chain + tensioner.

Cleaned grease from timing chain cover

Open one nut from head cam to see oil pump functioning at 2000rpm. Oil is flowing.

 

Finally, conclude the piston/cylinder produces noise.

But no need to change cause:-

1. no burn oil

2. no white smoke after cold start.

 

All free. No labour charge but I gave RM4

tighten front fork nut from vibration

 

increased height of rear twin suspension to harden

 

then from last week i noticed one new sound coming very loud.

foreman rectified that it is the silencer exhaust pipe has leakage and inner area broke. Cannot do welding and only can change entire exhaust pipe.

 

Now got two noise from bike - piston and exhaust

 

yamehe really sucks and pain killer to wallet.

1. tighten allen screw of givi box which loosen. But this time put glue into hole to make sure it's more tight.

 

2. took out "main air jet" and cleaned with air and sprayed wd-40. then put into carburator. Now performance of bike is good. The air was insufficient which caused bike lags pickup.

 

3. put oil into throttle cable to smoothen.

 

 

yamehe really sucks and unstable ....maybe to me only

Hi i just got a spark 110 for transport .. I was suprised u can maintain at 100km /hr coz i usually maintain at 80km .. Anything more then that my bike is Dying liao ... From ur post , U seem very knowledgable for this bike model ..

When i took over the bike , the bike sprocket is 15 / 38 .. In order to not to let the bike too stress while travelling at 80km i actually play with the sprocket ratio slowly .. Currently is using 16T front / 36T Rear . The bike dun roar so much n much better but the moving off is slightly abit weak when pillion. So was wondering if they have big bore kit n longer gear ratio like the 135cc or 125cc .. So that i can travel at a high speed n yet dun make the low end so weak coz of the gearing .. Thanks a million

let me tell you about yamaha spark Z 110cc

you made wrong choice by getting this bike.

 

Honda wave is better

suzuki shogun or suzuki smash is the BEST

 

cause yamaha is weak in crankshaft.

 

anyway, yamaha spark z can go above 120km/h EASILY.

with my weight more then >85kg

 

i use sprocket ratio 14T 35T

 

pickup and acceleration is fantastic

 

i need to know your mileage and from there can give tips

 

otherwise bring to main road skudai, Jb

to my mechanic

 

he is certified specialist for all moped underbone yamaha from hong leong KL.

 

give him 1 hour and he can tell you the exact reasons.

now confirmed exhaust got one hole inside muffler and produce wierd noise

and piston shaking and makes engine roar

luckily the piston ring strong so the the oil never leak and cause white smoke and burn oil.

change plug to GENUINE PLUG means mostly all plugs have counterfeit / imitation.

 

so please get the genuine plug of any brand.

 

example u may try denso iridium

go rowell road and buy , it cost SGD 16

 

u will never get backfire

first :- decide u want to buy spare part from malaysia or singapore

 

u do the comparison prices in ringgit and sgd

 

second

 

u want to do in skudai or larkin

 

difference :-

larkin - fast within 6 hours and he has all the tools and welding

 

skudai - he is yamaha specialist but then some things he has to deliver to outside factory for welding or mounting. may complete in a day.
