hi all,

talking about jb mech (no doubt its cheaper), from my perception, i prefer to do my ride locally. of course, before having trust on one, i will hang around the moto tiam and survey his work. i rather pay abit of extra cash than to travel across the border. UNLESS, if i need some items like large brake rotors and rims, i will travel by car to buy those items. please share your views.

regards.

IMO most shops will not do the works with TLC one, best if you have the knowledge, time and effort to do urself. for me having being a regular at one of the shops at jb, so can say i haf confidence with the shop. to me singapore shops just like to chop ppl head one.

Hi guys, I been riding my wave s for almost 2 yrs and my bike EO was change at Boon Siew so as to keep the warranty since. But the last 2 times when I change EO myself, I found that not much EO was been drained out from my bike. High oil comsumption? I thought is normal then pour a fresh 750ml(as according to manual) EO (castrol power 1) into it. But recently when I checking my EO after 2500km, the EO level was super low again! I had to top up amost 700ml of new EO! Did you guys experience this? This is normal? I dun see any leak from the engine block or any white smoke from the exhaust. Did any of you have this issue as well? What EO you guys mornally use and change at how many mileage? As I'm using semi syn, to lose so much oil at 2500km is it normal? Can any expert share your views on this cause this is worrying. Thanks bro.

hi bro,

i heard about this problem before. i'm a kiasu myself. i always change my eo every 1 month (which is sometimes between 1000-1500km). 1 of the reasons i change very regularly coz i do not want this problem to happen. maybe there is a slight difference in volume after i drain out the old eo. i guess u all know what will happen if your eo runs dry right? i always use motul 5100 synthetic. cost $16 and good eo.

is it possible if you can scan the eo page manual?

i suggest if you can afford, try change every month.

thanks and regards.

hi bro,

motul 5100 is quite good. if you have abit of deep pocket, you can try maxima. actually, not that siong lah... the way i see it, if i want to have a good ride and take good care of my engine, is better i do it this way. as many riders say, frequent oil change will be good for the engine. for me, i always put aside some money every month to maintain my ride... especially when my ride is already 4 years old. i just would not know what will happen...

hi bro,

don't need to get expensive chain. you may want to try to get those okada sprocket & did heavy duty chain set for wave. usually cost about $45 plus installation. its inside 1 yellow package. i had it on mine and after about 4 months of using it, i only tighten it once. can give it a try.

hi bro,

mine runs for about 140km plus minus. if i always wack, consumption will be more. if you open air box and use power filter, lagi worst but nice ride... hope these infos is a gain for you. but i ever heard that some stock wave can run for about 150-160km on a full tank (3.7litres). i guess these bikes are rode by apeks and pakciks...

I also use this brand of chain and sprocket. Abt 3 months still no tightening req'd.

To add on to it....the top is a bit compromise. After I installed this, my top speed is now only can go to 105km/hr max.

hi bro,

you can try to go to ahm performance at eunos ave 4 (behind singpost). ah hong (owner/mechanic) has motul and maxima. i tink the maxima cost about $23. comes with 10w40 and 15w50. if you have deep pockets, you can try use motul 300v factory line. cost $28. expensive but super duper smooth...
