My pillion is 155 plus, i guess it abit small compared to phantom. I also find it abit small for her. Oh ya. my seat is alter b4 too, that might be the cause too.

My pillion is 172cm. I wanted to go bareback initially, but for safety reasons I placed a sissy bar behind as a psychological buffer. Comfort level - alright for pillion. Anyway, the max trip time in Sg is only abt 40mins.

Maybe last time your phantom got rear box, so your pillion might feel safer when leaning back, hence the feeling of more space.

Baal, the unmodified VLX rear cushion is rather thick + big backrest, looks comfortable to me. Of course can't compare to tourers, which have the highest comfort level seats.

Now I am facing problem of petrol leaking. sad....

There's another bigger platform pedal than the cheaper eagle foot rest.

That shld fit fine, but not easy to find.

Could be the fuel c0ck diaphragm faulty?

Cos I had that happen to me, @ 1st cannot turn to Off, then, cannot Reserve...

If its the tank having a hairline crack, ...

Cos, it'll be extreme difficult to find a replacement & patching may or may not work.

YA! Petrol up 5 cents again. Anyway ROSLI says its tank leaking. I tot from engine. phew.

More question from me

- I had read the manual and it says 200psi for front wheel and 250psi for back wheel. Is this same for steed VLX?

- When i ride uneven surface sometime i got a "tong tong" sound, knocking of metal any1 face this before?

Personally, I follow the recommended PSI on the tyre. 205 front/ 250 rear. Look along your tyre wall. Rosli thou suggested 290 for rear. I guess it's all preference.

When I travel too fast over humps, I do hear metal crunching sounds from the back. It's probably the suspension being over-depressed. Just ride slower over uneven ground.

As all Steed are well over 15yrs old, unlike front suspension whereby usual maintenance can be done, the rear monoshock spring & damper maybe worn.

Again, OEM replacement maybe hard to come by locally.

But maybe can try rebuilding or source for aftermarket?

Corbin have aftermarket replacement seats for Steed.

But theirs are labelled Shadow VLX 400/600. Info HERE.

Bt its costly & to what I know, no dealers here locally also when I was thinking of ways to get it..

I noted that too. Thus I tot that the VLX should be the most comfortable among the Steeds for pillion.

KeV if you see it around, let us know! I find like siao last yr, but couldn't find locally. Those online ones very pricey.

My tank oso got lots of patched areas.

- same pressure, coz same sized tyres.

- sounded like exhaust loose

Im not sure where can re-con the rear monoshock wor, maybe you try asking rosli?

I prefer Eugene's workmanship, thou the lengthy wait.

There's another shop, under a HDB, near Mah, my fren reccomend, saw the workmanship, also not bad.

Went ROSLI, he could not find where is the sound coming from.

I pump 290 for rear, felt more stable, and surprisingly the "tong tong" sound i was talking disappeared! strange.

My bike now with ROSLI doing respray. juz patch my tank. hopefully dun leak again.

Any Idea one new tank how much (preparing for the worse).

Sad to say, there isnt.

Unless u r riding a HD with SE on, maybe, with the help of the bike shop, shld b able to pass. Any HD riders that can explain?

Or, mod pipe, like, ahem, Blacknese did...

Yeah I guess that's pretty resonable.. Was quoted $280 by Teo spray(with pin strape and Steed logo) and $250 just single colour.. But have to remove everything urself..

when go for respray, dun put any logo, so it can pass off as HD when TP see you.
