melaka is generally safer than JB, period. but it pays to be on your guard at all times. although you won't be parking your bike overnight at a hotel, it is still better to bring additional lock as an added deterrant when you park. once inside melaka town, expect to run into lots of one way streets, so you may not be able to make a u-turn and return the way you came. not to worry though, just follow the road signs and you will find your way back to the NSW. you may want to think about tanking up after ayer keroh, just in case you take a longer way to find your way back to the expressway.

I would advice you to get another one or two bikes to go with you. It will be much better. More people means help in the event when you need it. You wouldn't know when you need it one. Trust me. As for the roads, it's actually quite easy to find the way back. If you can make it, join those guys for the Waterfall trip on this coming weekend. Dun worry, they are a bunch of friendly bikers (but dun try to run with them; if not you will regret like me).

Yup I still remember the time when 3 of us went up Melaka and 2 of our bikes got problem... One bike's coolant flushed out whenever it stops and the other bike battery flat hence cannot stop else need to push start.

 

A planned half day blast to and from Melaka became a full day adventure

bike done the essential servicing, tire worm and portable pump. always on a look out for ur bike. my fren k4 1000 almost got stolen, they carried the bike upt the lorry. yes malacca. best to bring another bike partner along. dun bother to stop if u see people need help by the side road. may be some kind of syndicate. my dad almost kena...near 2nd link. prepare some cash if u intend to speed, nowadays lotsa speed trap. last but not least... enjoy ur ride! take care.

hi guys, i am planning for a 2D1N short trip up north. i am hoping to go to a place whereby food is good and cheap. the hotel i am looking for if possible to be something like aloha loyang whereby parking of my bike can be within the compound.

 

i am planning this trip to get away from my hectic work here. hope to find some nice resort with beaches to relax and do nothing. wonder if there is any places in malaysia where u guys can recommend?

Will highly recommend you to go batu ferringhi in penang. About 600km away from here.

short one will be Melaka... nice food and hotel not ex.. 286KM away

 

longer abit will be Bukit Tinggi, but the price quite high... but good for relax and couples...

 

next Cameron Highland, nice cool weather and cheaper hotel rates...

try Baba House. It's a boutique hotel and has a small private parking area which i had stayed before. There's a guard at the gate.

nothing. It's those old converted shophouses, it's very near to the famous Jonker Walk, which is like a pasar malam, many things to eat & shop.
