1999| Singapore | English, Mandarin, Hokkien

Color 100 min | Comedy, Romance

Directors: Kelvin Tong, Jasmine Ng

Cast: Benjamin Heng, Alvina Toh, Michelle Chong, Mark Lee

A romance between opposites, Eating Air follows the lives of two teenagers during one of the hottest months in Singapore. For Boy breaking into bridal shops under moonlight is as wildly exicting as taking Girl on her first motrocycle spin. For Girl, hurtling down the the highway faster than the speed of sound is as intoxicatingly frightening as wondering where Boy rushes off to everytime he receives a page. Eating Air is about the joys and pangs of teenage love...

* Director Kelvin Tong and actor Benjamin Heng will be in attendance at the screening.

Interesting thread, thanks for posting your experiences.

I was born in 87 so all your stories seems a bit surreal to me, but nonetheless, thanks for sharing.

Mr yeobt, is it okay if i compile your stories and edit it (grammatically and structuring) so that it's more readily available?

"Wolves and sheep will live together in peace, and leopards will lie down with young goats, calves and lion cubs will feed together, and little children will take care of them. Cows and bears will eat together, and their calves and cubs will lie down in peace." Isaiah 11:6-8

wow where was this? and look at how clean the white rims were!

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

From a source I know, some one is writing a book about the bike groups during the 70s n 80s.

We maybe able to find out more interesting stories from the book once it's published.

Managed to see the last few remaining motor siaos before they were totally wiped out, There was quite a few bikes parked at school when i was in sec 1(1996) When i got to sec 2 they were all gone. Correct me if im wrong but i think they increased the age from 16 to 18 in 1996 and they wiped out Primary 7 and 8 in 1994 or 1995.
