Dear all,

With reference to the previous Monthly Gathering, I feel that some of them feel quite left out from the rest, some S4rians were some what shy/un-sporting to introduce themselves. Still the gathering was good except for one hiccup ( which cant be solved )...

p/s Andrew in name not in the list. :faint:

Whats e hiccup ?

I jolly well agreed that some of e S4rians still do have e shy-shy syndrome.

Btw , e introduction session should have taken place at a more well-lit location.

As forumer like Justin aka Camper (angmoh guy) who are 1st timer ,

we should make him comfortable mixin with us .

For e next n followin local or non-local outin,

we try to get inputs n feedbacks from other S4rians.

From their contributions , we can review whether e location suggested is convenient ,

in term of parkin, gatherin etc .

wat else can the hiccup be except for one guy who always have to be the one...

well i think that Camper did enjoy his time that day.. it can be enjoyable the next time.. i read his post he seems excited for the next gathering so alls well...

yea location wise do play a part for introducing quite a big group of people.. i upz that...

maybe introduction "format" could be longer and not jus saying names.. all of us should really mix around.. hate to admit it but thumbs up for thomas, he actually did his part going around to chat, mixing around.

next month outing we'll be going malaysia right? i think we should add a stop half way to the end point.. something like tanjong piai... where we can hang around chatting with each other... maybe we can sit in one sheltered place and share with each other their past riding experience... something like that to get the whole group feel like a family...

BIG upz for palmer and sino....

I second that .

Thomas aka S4Vtec really take his own iniative to be e marker for e outin.

I salute his willingness n by doin so e new comers will feel safe n enjoyable throughout e outin.

E upz not only for palmer n sino.

E upz is for every single S4rians whom made e outin a successful one n without them supportin, it wont happen.

My talk with him seems to get some small result in him helping out. But need to emphasis the importance of riding style as some still saying it's dangerous for him as a marker to dash thru the convoy to go ahead to mark.

He can be playing different role, etc and do keep advising that all are adult rider and they do not like to be regimental. Just do it properly and we should be getting the result in due time.

I remebered there was a proposal previously by Manzz to gather all the CB400 community for a hugh turnout for a photoshoot followed by interview by MCA but sadly did not materalised. Are we able to work towards that and bring up the exposure of the CB400 community members to the biking scene?

My experience as a sweeper for the last two outings are the same felt as Andrew.

Thomas is very helpful indeed. but dashing thru the convoy dangerously is unacceptable. furthermore, he on his hazard lights thruout the journey, dunno if he is changing lanes or his intentions..

Palmer did a detailed explaination on the route taken to various checkpoints.. i suggest get more markers and sweepers, explain the roles and responsiblities of markers and sweepers for all to know.. eg: markers to mark split roads, never stop with markers, carry on convoy.. sweepers to be the last of convoys for any straggers, never fall behind sweepers.. markers and sweepers are to be familiar with route and road conditions..

markers to overtake with care, sweepers to encourage straggers to push on within their limits.. tag new riders with their ability groups with one old bird to lead?

photoshoot i believe can be done too, but be a day outing instead..?

Bro Palmer, on john's suggestion above ;-

1. Ad hoc assignment of members during the meetup before convoy moves off. This will also train more members to take up different roles and responsibilities

2. Each route during local ride, the marker should oni mark once and fall back in front of the sweeper once the marker is being signal to proceed on. This way we can minimise the protential of dangerous rding through the convoy to take up marking posn. Afterall, reach destination we can discuss and redeploy the markers again for the next route.

3. There are still members not familiar with convoy riding i.e getting out of the staggered positioning; taking up more than one lane; overtake without care; did not keep up the pace of the convoy and fall far behind, etc

4. The role of the sweeper is important; i.e lane changing should signal and hold back other vehicle so that the convoy can switch lane safely; signal & pick up the markers deployed; and also making sure no one is behind left behind.

5. One IMPORTANT POINT is that no discipline when comes to parking. Anyhow anyhow park!!! Should instill that once reach a place, the 1st bike to select a clearing and park nicely, after that take up the role of assigning members to take up parking and so on so forth. I believe this can be done. Just need some nagging...:faint: :faint:

Hope to see more suggestion to discuss and implement is feasible.

Regards

Andrew
