Hey,

Why not ride up during the 3NCR weekend? We should be able to meet a lot of bikers heading north to penang.

I saw the invite on Mah forum also.

Im not keen due to several reasons such as the great nos of bikes.

On some stops, u can get up to 50 or more bikes qing for petrol?

The ride is not smooth, expect plenty of delays.

Not my thing.

Hmm, don't your bike has the fuel consumption gauge? You can use it as a rough guide.

For example, I'm currently using Esso Ron92, my FC for today is 5.4L per 100KM, which is around 18.5km/L. My fuel tank is 17.4L. So that means I can travel 321.9KM before the tank is totally dried up.

But it's impossible to to have such good FC everyday. It's difficult to ride this bike gently. Same goes to the Speed Triple :D

the worst consumption on the 1050 for avg speeds of abt 175 is abt 11km/L.

this is with full loads eg, panniers, tankbags, & a pillion.

best consumption is about 21km/L, 20L tank, giving nearly 350km.

corner like a sportsbike.

actually, with the wider handlebars, its easier to throw the bike into corners and flick it like u stole it!! :)

talking abt fuel consumption, it all boils down to how you intent to ride it.

By owning a speed triple the last thing on my mind is fuel consumption, you just want to have fun pushing it to the max. Or else it really defeat the purpose of owning the baddest looking streetfighter on earth.

BTW my FC is 220km before reserve light comes on. 220/14=15km pre litre.

Posted

sounds like decent FC.

i get about 340km for 80% spore hwy riding for my 20L tank for the 1050.

at the end, i fill up about 19.999L :D

I just have a box of bits at the moment but also lurking :faint:

Blackie, is Jagan still around, haven't heard from him in a long time?

Charity Bike Wash this Sunday in aid of Community Chest, no extra charge for 3 cylinders :cheeky: all welcome, see details on facebook, be nice to say hello to any other T riders (or owners of bits) who can make it.:thumb:

Vara is gone but back strain lingers on o_O

jagan is probably lurking, he's been busy at work and taking too many holidays.

Hah hah, that is very true. A lot of business trips. So much so that I haven't had time to ride the beast for the past few weeks

Thus leading to a dead battery :(

I am also waiting to install the new Wilburs front springs.

So much to do and no time to ride.

Ben & Niall, give me a call if you guys want to meet up. That will give me a reason to take the bike for a spin :)

are non triumphs or former triumph owners welcome to tag along?:)

Yes, non Triumph owners are welcome to join according to the invitation. If only Triumph owners allowed then it will be hard to find enough riders to make it viable, not many riders "go their own way".

Btw i find the program a bit tight, depart on sat morning, return on sun by 7pm. The actual race starts at 3pm.
