hi guys,

For those riding CBR 1000 2008, this message is for you. Me and DenverDio are ordering Hotbodies Read Hugger for our bikes from Bike LAb who are distributers for Hotbodies(USA) in Singapore. We hope to solve the irritating problem of mud splashing updwards onto our bikes undertail and shock linkage. The rear hugger we are ordering can be seen in the link below. We are ordering the unpainted version which is only $79.95USD, as it is $100USD cheaper than the painted version. We intend to save money by either diy paint with spray can ($5) or getting it professionally painted in Singapore($40). It makes more sense then to pay $100USD for the painted version! Prices can be seen in the link provided below at the official Hotbodies website.

http://www.hotbodiesracing.com/en/prod_324_huggers_honda_2008-09_cbr1000rr

If you are interested to get a rear hugger for youself, you may want to join in our order so that we all can get further discount by mass order. Call me at 81020410. Right now we are awaiting qoutation from Bikelab. It should not be too different from the price online -$79.95USD. Pls note this is not an advert for bikelab. I am just posting here to benefit all CBR riders. No commission whatsoever goes to myself or Dino. thanks.

Very cheap option! Good deal! Go go go!

There's an even better way to check this. I can't remember the startup sequence, I posted it here few years back.

Something like, shift to 1st gear, full throttle, then turn key to on. Or maybe have to clutch in or apply rear break. Try a few combinations and you might get it.

When done correctly, the light on the dash will blink for 10 secs, and while it is blinking, the HESD will be in full damping effect. you can move the steering lock to lock to feel it.

:thumb: thanss bro i will try it ltr...

or u can try turn on engine (dun start), twist full throttle for like 10secs. den HESD light will blink & steering will tighten...

i also abit forget already but can try either method hope 1 works... :thumb:

Actually, suspension tuning it not that hard after you learn the concept of the preload, compression and rebound. Of course you must have the tools as well before you can set it. Unless it is free, then why not? However if you are talking about rebuilding the suspension, then it better to let the pros do because they have the right tools and experience. The investment of the tools and equipment for the rebuilding most likely will cost more, then it makes more sense to let them do.

like to check you with guy. Today i and my friend tested on our speed, we travel the same level my bike show 60km/h but his R1 show only 30km/h. how come like this???? Is it because his tyre problem cause im using 190 and he is using 180? Will the tyre cause the speed different??? or what will cause this speed difference???

Doesn't matter if it is a stock gearing. Cause when they design the bike with a big sprocket, the speed sensor will be calibrated to give the actual road speed reading.

Tyre makes a difference but not so significant difference and especially at low speed. Maybe he changed to a smaller rear sprocket or bigger front sprocket. But in order to have such big difference, the sprocket difference compare to stock must be huge. Or did he install speed healer? Or is the speedo reading in miles? :giddy:

To have a slight difference in speedo readings is ok.. bt to have a difference of 30km/hr for bikes of similar class is a bit strange.......

Just an update on my clutch issue. Now there is oil spilling out from my clutch housing. Didn't realise it until I saw oil on my shoe. I cleared up the oil and went riding to confirm it. Indeed some oil spill out, most likely from the gasket. But not as much as before. Maybe it due to a longer and higher speed ride that cause the leak. The reconfirmation ride is a shorter slower speed ride. Will let BS verified it. Hopefully there is more oil leak as in more visable one before I reach BS. If not they might think I am b*ll sh*tting them.

Brothers of the Blade,

Is anyone using Dynojet PC V? and the Auto-Tune module?

Lai lei .... share some of you reviews.

How you tune your bike?

What maps you use? ... since you can pump 2 different maps into the fuel injection module now.

Is the Auto-tune a good investment? Does it compliment to the your existing maps?

How you tune your bike?

What maps you use? ... since you can pump 2 different maps into the fuel injection module now.

Is the Auto-tune a good investment? Does it compliment to the your existing maps?

First of all, do you really need 2 maps? cause the cost between PC3 and PC V is a big difference in local market. 2ndly, do you know the concept of tuning? This will determine whether you should get the Auto tuning device.

The auto tuning device only suggest a mapping and it up to you to use it if you want. You will have to scan through the map for any weird reading. Like a sudden massive additional or subtraction of fuel. And the autotuning device will always give you a different mapping according to the temperature, humility, wind and load of the day you ride. Day, night, rain makes a big difference as well. If you know what you are doing, then by all means, I will suggest you get it. If you are a perfectionist, you will always ask yourselves, is this the best? And soon you will go and start to tune again. And if you know nuts, then forget it. Go for custom tuning by professional tuner. Then ask yourselves the 1st question, you need 2 maps? By the way, the O2 sensor on the autotune device has a high wear and tear rate. You cannot keep putting it on the O2 sensor slot on the exhaust. Once you finish tuning, take it out. A worn out O2 sensor will have inaccurate reading.

Everyone only need one good mapping. Thats all you need. However due some circumstances, you may feel like having more. For example,

1) Street legal exhaust will have removable silencer. You may want to map a with and without silencer maps.

2) Day ride and night ride especially in malaysia. Normally ppl want more performance during night time supper to malaysia.

But if you think back, everyone is happy with one mapping. So it up to you lah. Seriously PC V looks damn small. :lovestruck:

Kinwei, u know how much is it to install O2 sensors for my bike?? Uploaded a map into my PC 3 and it seems it require O2 sensors for full performance.... Heard HKL does it.

Don't be mistaken. A O2 sensor is just a sensor. It a device that utilised the sensor to take AFR reading. The device is neccessary to take the data and computed it.

The one u refering to is wide band commander for PC3. It is a real time AFR logging system. This device will plug a O2 sensor into your exhaust O2 sensor socket. Remember I mentioned that real world riding reading and dyno tuning reading is different? Wide Band commander will record the AFR during your ride at different rpm/throttle position. But it will nor recommend you the mapping. Just in case if you are not sure, mapping is just + or - fuel at individual rpm/throttle position. Throttle position is every 25% and RPM is every 1500rpm or 500rpm, I forgot.

So with this AFR log, the tuner have to roughly estimate how much fuel to + or - AND at which RPM/throttle position. And then you will have to ride again to feel the result and the new log. It involved alot of trial and error.

By the way, wide band commander is not cheap, think around 500 or above. You still haven't add in the money to pay the tuner to "estimate" and change the value for you. This is why Autotune is much better than Wideband commander. At least it recommend you the mapping but you need PC V though. :cheer:

Dear Blader,

Would like to check with you guys about the clutch recall issue for RR8 again.

1) How do you think about the clutch after replaced?

2) Do you notice extra sound coming out from the clutch housing or any extra sound after replace the clutch?

For my own self i got this issue... i notice now got extra sound coming out from the clutch housing and even the engine side. I send to B.S another time to check but still the same...first few week is ok but after that come back again. But overall for the clutch replacement i find really got improve alot, react faster than before and also smooth.
