anyone here service their own caliper? what brake fluid is best to use? thnx

dude,

To service your calipers, you'll need compressed air for ease of pistons removal. Other than that, the rest of the tools are pretty basic. Having some fine sandpaper (at least 320) will be useful if you find some corrosion pittings on the pistons and the cylinder walls of the caliper. I used a coarse paper (~150) and finished it with a fine paper (400).

You may want to change your piston seals while they are out of the caliper too. They are not cheap. Let me quote the sales person "if can afford to ride Super4, then sure can afford spare parts, it is like that one". Bollocks I'd say. The seals didn't look any different to those that are used for Phantom or Cubs! Haha

Cheers

u might wanna look at BRAKING rotors at $450 per piece for front and $240 for rear. I will be going Taiwan this month, so going over to see their rotors. planning to change to wave rotors for the front. but BRAKING is above my budget.

bro get galfer la,

i mean i'm not trying to push sales

or saying which is better but

during my purchase for galfer disc front and rear

i learned that galfer was the first company to start

wave design so imo i thought why not go the the fathers of the disc world?

that's why i got it. plus point is it's much thicker than the original ones.

main points is better cooling & braking power cos they disc are made of

carbon steal =) very ex..but i can't control myself..lol.

btw they are not fully floating ah semi only..

hope this helps,

Fred

It's not about the power or speed or how fast your ride goes but the time & effort spent to achieve something different

I just changed to HEL brakeline from Unique Motors ($150).

Instantly can feel the diff in braking, braking distance is reduced, i using normal brakepads (newfren or goldfren i forgot which one)..

The brakeline had saved me twice frm going straight to the rear of a car.. I doubt so if i were using stock ones.

Hi my front brake cannot make it. I've decided to replace the stuff that earlier posts talked about. Namely the Brem 19x20 master cylinder and reservoir, Venhill brakeline, brake pads and disc.

All this will cost a bomb. The brakes are the first thing I spend on after getting the bike.

hi guys need ur help!!!

i had changed new aftermarket flower-type rear brake disc, new rear pump kit & pad, and brake switch.

Problem 1: brake disc become very hot after a normal ride, dunno why?

Problem 2: very weak rear braking power even at slope, the bike will row back when i only step the rear brake, dunno why?

can anyone help to solve my problem? everyday travel on the road, i feel very unsafe when only front brake effective..

thanks alot
