I am also reminded of the young man Benjamin suicide and especially the 2 young men MRT accident.

I AM TRULY SADDENED And feel so helpless.

IIRC there is a thread for fallen riders. Not sure where it is in the forum now. Lets not have a 'What makes me sad today' thread and keep this place more optimistic and positive. Its already sad enough knowing we have lost some of our loved ones in some RTA. Then again anyone is allowed to create a new thread every now and then be it a positive or negative one. Just my own view.

Duo make sad today.

Ok lah. Sad and disappointed after going to the pet expo. Had to pay for entry. More like dog expo though. There were a few cats but mostly dogs. There were some freebies but mostly for dogs. There is even an insurance booth. However it only applicable for dogs. Am disappointed that its more like a dog expo than a pet expo. There were other pets like a couple of rabbits and maybe a parrot. However dogs were everywhere. The dogs were on a leash with their respective owners and looking tired.

Kinda really cheesed off by PRC males.

I was kinda serving as First Aider at P Ubin.

While on the way to one situation and I called to infd we are on the way and the PRC boy had to ask me whether I spoke Chinese. I had to reply yes and switch to my fairly decent chinese. Gave some instructions for the guy to get some sticks to support the girl's broken ankle. As well as prop her into a sitting position, especially if she is conscious.

The PRC boy called me and asked me: Whether I am on my way, and what is my eta. I told him I am on my way, (Seriously, there is no way for the girl to be evacuated at the one way lane onto Chek Jawa Central point. Unless by the taxi vans. And they got no access into a much safer easy to transport any injured person onto a boat.) So unless he wanted to piggy back the injured person and swim across the sea to Singapore, he has to wait for us.)

The traffic was really bad with crowds of people. And my driver is fairly new and went down a wrong road.

I was having to answer question to that boy, as well having to direct the driver. Who also happens to be shy with using the car horn. (And that stupid siren in the vehicle was broken, connection problem)

So, One questions that irked me: He asked whether I have a doctor on board. I replied no.

2nd question: Do you have a first aider. I replied yes, I will have to be one.

3rd question: Do you have the first aider qualifications. This is where I really want to blow my top.

Anyway, we reached before I can really reply him sarcastically. And The girl was lying in the middle of the lane, and it can be spotted that the ankle was in the opposite direction of where it should be facing.

Definitely dislocated, and at worse broken ankle.

that IDIOT PRC BF of her never listened to my instruction.

I got down, did a check and demanded for broken twigs. So many helpers than immediately went to break enough twigs to form a bonfire.

I picked four, and tried to bandage the ankle, but the girl being lying down, I can't do it well. So I told the boyfriend to go behind her and support her into sitting position.

And as he lift her. He and another fella than raise the girl up to try to sit on his upright knee. She was screaming in such pain. In the end, I see that she cannot bear their lifting, immediately instructed them to put her into the vehicle.

What further cheesed me off, is that while the girl is in the vehicle, that guy was saying goodbyes to all the helpful people. Hugs, Kisses, machiam like group discussions. And they apparently are all strangers. He came with the PRC gf only.

And a Frenchman was really holding her hand to keep her calm. While her bf was basking in the friendliness of the situation, while my driver was in the car, and me standing there in the wilderness waiting for him to get in the vehicle.

And I left it as that. And we tried rushing the girl to a jetty and convey her to mainland and ambulance waiting at the jetty for her.

What bugs me, because I wasn't able to take charge of the instruction more forcefully, and bandage that broken ankle better.

And that PRC boy was in Singapore as some sort of IT engineer. And he had to ask me to speak in Chinese. The gal was in Singapore as a student.

2nd incident was where I was at the Ubin Nparks office.

One PRC auntie, what looks like her PRC husband and her middle aged son strolled in. The auntie has a red bloodied mark on underneath her nose, machiam like a nose bleed.

I made her sit where I can see sunlight to examine her, and opened a bottle of water and NParks people supplied me with toliet rolls. I needed to clean off the bloodied nose to see what injury.

Turns out, she fell off a bicycle, landed face first, bruised and non bloodied cuts on her forehead, non bloodied cuts on the bridge of her nose and apparently cuts above her lips below the nose.

The younger chap was insisting for her to be seen to, and the lady was extravagantly and loudly saying she didn't need to.

All the while, everytime that chap open his mouth, auntie was like roll body, wave hands, and I couldn't do anything.

And as I was trying to clean off what the blood stain, that idiot was saying: Don't use toilet paper, its dirty.

I really got fed up, and after another time where the auntie did her gesturing. I told him to just keep his mouth shut. And instructed for her and them to get to the ferry, and go back Singapore mainland and decide on the whether they want to go doctor.

Didn't even borther to walk them to the jetty and help them jump queue for the ferry back.

Whats really bugging me.

I really don't seem to work well with helpful people.

They have a good heart, they really do.

Its just that, they are so helpful, it sometimes was not helping much.

Its like me putting together Ikea furniture. I can oneself transport them with taxi and put everything up. All by myself. Or simply walk carry, walk carry stuff around. But when it comes to co-operation. I really cannot work with people who improvise.

I still cannot understand, how my instruction for that guy to go behind the girl, support her into a sitting a sitting position. Means they have to lift her all the way from the ground and try to sit her onto his knee.

Maybe its due to how they comprehend? You did say the guy asks if you could converse in Chinese right? Very likely could not understand English much. And some words have aslightly different meaning for others. Words are very subjective. Well most are at least. Its been done and over with so do not think too much of it.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!......I was speaking in Chinese!

The french guy, who didnt understand, was translated by his wife.

Think thats where the translation got screwed, cos I was speaking to that bf, and the french guy seeing him trying to hoist the girl up, help to hoist her up on the other side.

Need an air con helmet and air con jacket for riding in this 35c afternoon heat. Even the wind blow is hot air.
So that is what it is? No wonder kept seeing irregular empty spaces in front and back of cars at traffic junctions. So they were stopping in the shades created by the trees while waiting for the light to turn green. Do not mind me I shall just fill in the blank file/space. Already accepted that a rider will always be at the mercy of the weather. However hot and sunny is always more preferable than it being raining and wet. Then again that is just me.

It is raining now. Cold and wet roads. Ride defensively. There will always be some drivers switching lanes as and whenever without signalling or checking. Keep a lookout and reach your destination safe.

I miss the wet t-shirt riding......brrrr.....pain when you go fast, cold when its terribly windy....and the t-shirts sticking on the chests "substitute the che with brea",

Ok. For those who might be travelling to Japan, maybe you can source for the Air Con Jacket. It was developed during the Fukushima disaster where the country was without power.

Its a portable aircon running on batteries, in a sealed jacket like a windbreaker. And it keeps the workers cool.

PRCs.

Colleague went to a shop to do up her eyebrow embroidery based on my recommendation.

She went again for a touch up. And the new PRC girl, did up one eyebrow and subsequently got my colleague to pay up another full fare to continue to do up the other eyebrow.

Now I can only hope to put out a strong warning. DO NOT PATRONISE the beauty services at People's Park Complex and Peoples Park Centre. Advise your mothers, sisters, aunties and so on.

They are now operating like how Sim Lim Complex does. And even worse when its all females doing it.

I was so mad, that I told my mother off to stop associating with them. They make use of her being Singaporean, to front their shops to pull in customers.

Them PRC, once they earn enough, or their names/reputations are bad enough, is easy to just run off anytime. But my mother, thinking the company really values her services, so didn't want to quit.

Had enough of them. There are a number of them who dislike their own people too.

This may be old but I just found this. Now I know what happened to the fellow that killed a friend. Still feels the sentence is too light.
