@revhappy, lucky you... I think I have paid more ERP fines than the average citizen myself haha...

@mjbs64, no need: I only move the controller, and my head, and my body, and in the end the car/motor crashes just the same.

I can only play those games where you shoot stuff or others, and fight games. Anything that requires to move someone or a vehicle = total disaster.

Oh, Except for GTA because the purpose is to crash lol..

On a bike, never go faster than what you can see around the bend. Had a few occasions, had big trucks parked on the side of road just after the bend. Ride safe !!

But I don't even go fast, that's the problem ! :( I see other riders, they are riding safely, they negotiate the bend just nice, and me, I have to super slow down to be able to do a nice curve like them...  :slapforehead:

Slow during corner is okie.. at least u r safe.. dun compare ur speed to others.. pulsar not stable when cornering.. I had bad wobble when trying to corner at 70km/h.. very scary.. on my x1 n even phantom, they are even more stable and make me feel safer to corner..

To add on to mobilenerd tip.. adopt out in out.. when u r going corner fast.. more stable.. kekeke..

I think cornering depends on your own ability/confidence and also your bikes limitations. When you are new to a particular bike, need to be extra carefull, because the habits carried on from previous bike may not suit the new one.

The longer you have the bike the more experience you have on it and you push its limits step by step until you reach point where you dont want to push it anymore.

You should see Fabiano Jin's pulsar. It has been modified for racing and cornering. Just cant recognize that it is a pulsar unless you look closely.

And, oh yes, he has removed the main stand :)

I think I lack technique and skill turning - I'm not talking about taking a corner at 80km/h.. even 65-70 sometimes I have to go down to 50-55 to do a proper curve. And this is for large normal bends.

So this is really not about the bike's limits or the speed. This is solely about my lack of skill and confidence.

I always end up slowing down because otherwise I don't trust I'm gonna make it correctly. But if that has worked so far, now that I have more riding experience, it's not good enough.

Not because I'm slow, that I don't mind at all, but because clearly it's not safe, I should be able to negotiate normal bends without it having to be such a big deal.

Not to mention that if someday I do upgrade to a bigger bike, it's gonna be even worse because I'll be even more scared of not doing the turn the right way.

Anyway, I think some people got more or less talent in riding and for this I am clearly in the less part so I want to learn and practice...

Will start with the defensive riding course see how it goes..

@speedaddict, yeah, even over some bumps or bend-up-slope, if got a pillion, the main stand kisses the ground :faint:

Oren.. trust me.. once u rode a bigger bike like s4, u will definitely go around the bend at higher speed.. the stability will give u de confidence..

Anyway, bbdc has this course.. u might wanna ask anyone wanna join u..

Thanks Charlton.. I think my problem is not stability, it's aim.. I don't know how to call it, basically it's getting the right trajectory in a bend, to smoothly follow it without having to readjust mid-way.

And also I think maybe I'm too stiff, I know on our bike we can't lean on the side, but I see sometimes Pulsarians slighty lean tilt their bikes while cornering, and me I stay extra straight at all times, that can't be helping :cheeky:

i did my at bbdc...

for turning the instructor taught us 3 methods...

1 is body lean with the bike, 2 body lean away from bike, 3 body stay straight and bike lean...

each with pros and cons...

and also depends on angle of corner you entering and your speed...

had a fun time trying out in the circuit...

Normally, cornerning should be straightforward. Its only when there is emergency while cornering, like you find some object or you need to slowdown and hence brake, all hell can break loose, so better to be safe than sorry, try to be as vertical as possible(and hence need to slowdown) and try to as much to left of the lane as possible, so if someone is in a rush behind you let them overtake.

And cornering I mean the entry into expressways, can't think of any other corners on Singapore roads.

Today saw a duke 125 in my office carpark. It has really huge rear sprocket, the size of our front disc brake .

Looks like the sprocket of a class 2 bike. :thumb:

Maybe SIZE 46 and above..... They are fast. Can't catch up with them from standstill . Wonder how they perform in corners with the inverted forks...:)

Yeah! I guess, it uses 528 chain hence the large size. 125CC with that heavy chain, they could have just used a 428 chain like Yamaha R15 does and probably gained some more performance
