riding is for me an alternate form of transportation which provide cost effectiveness and puts a smile on your face when you see the roads all jammed up.

Made some photos when I was looking for the Air Filter sensor, just in case they are useful to other riders:

 

Remove the right side panel :

Locate the 4 screws of the air filter compartment

Using a 8mm wrench tool thingy,

Unscrew the 4 bolts

Remove the cover, you can see the Air Filter on the left (here, a Protec Air Filter, in stock bikes, it's a yellow sponge) and the air filter grill on the right

Once both removed, inside the Air Box, you will see on the rear wall of the box, a little box fixed in with a bracket: that's the air filter sensor.

To remove it to clean it , it's 2 simple cross type screws from the rear of the air box. But, to access these screws, you most likely will have to remove the air box, which is impossible unless you un-bolt the foot peg assembly from the main axle.

Otherwise, you can't dislodge the air box, the foot-peg assembly is covering too much of it to just slide it out.

 

I read on xBHP forums (here) that you could clean the sensor with WD40. But when I tried to access inside the sensor little box (it's open on the right side facing the front), it was very hard: maybe my hands are too big, couldn't really reach inside the sensor box going through the top vent of the air box (top vent is "protected" with a rubber open cover shaped like a breathing pipe, under the rider's seat).

 

The air filter sensor is connected to a green connector, you can see/access it from the left side of the bike: the side where the battery is. The green connector should be stashed somewhere on the right of your battery when facing it.

 

If you change your stock air filter to an aftermarket one, especially a K&N one, your air filter sensor will light up. This is likely due to the width of the air filter that sort of sits too close to the sensor box, making the sensor think that there's not enough air going through, hence blinking.

(This is only a guess, maybe I'm making up stuff, please correct me if I'm wrong). In that case, you can unplug the green switch so the blinking stops on your dashboard.

 

It shouldn't happen with the Protec filter though. In my case, I believe my sensor is probably too dusty from the trip..

If by cruising we mean keeping a certain speed for long distances without the engine going nuts after 15km, I don't know many Pulsars here that can do that.

Maybe @irahc78 got his to do that, he often rides to KL so he can share his experience.

Cruising at 100-105 is not a problem, after that, I find it hard, not only because of the vibrations and numbness, but you can feel the engine is not too happy, it can be done, but that's gonna give you a troubled bike in a few years.

 

I think those who talk about cruising at 90-100km, are those who feel it's the best comfort zone for their bikes, doesn't mean they can;t go above, but for them, that's where riding is most comfortable and to their liking.

possible...u drop sprocket size by alot and grab taller tyres but then ur pick up will be detrimentally slower.

maybe 5th gear 120 at 6k-7krpm can but i doubt the bike can climb to higher rpms. not realli feasible.

stock setup at 120, the engine like wan to sexplode into its individual components.

I still dont understand how can windscreen water splash from one car to another. I have done a lot of driving cars before(not in Singapore) but never ever thought that water that sprays on my windscreen can cause any sort of disturbance to others.

 

But I still dont understand why did he turn the steering to the left when the taxi whizzed past him, the natural instinct should have been to pull the steering to the right or just hold it straight, jam brakes. Thats the thing that beats me.

You had a pulsar earlier isn't it? You sold and bought a scrambler. Now planning to get back to pulsar is it?

 

For going at 120 smoothly you will have to sacrifice a lot of pick up. Sinnob cannot do it. You will need 36 teeth rear sprocket from P220 or do a 428 chain conversion and get 17 front 38 rear from Yamaha bikes. Again pickup will suffer but 120-130km/hr smoothly possible!

 

Ask Gaban, I believe his P180 has 15 front and 37 rear. P200 due to it slightly better power should be able to handle even taller gearing.

O'Ren n revhappy ... like said this is common practiced by drivers here to have some sort of revenge when he is not happy with the front vehicle ...

 

how annoying? ... just let say ur clean crystal looks windshield or helmet visor or ur jacket get sprayed jus like the driver and these ppl just do it on ur car or you on purpose ... how do you feel ?

 

as in the video his windshield is clean and clear ... he did dat cos he jus not happy with the front car for road hogging so he thought dat driver not familiar with dat trick so he do it on purpose !!

 

yes dat driver will get punished for wat he did with dat kind of dangerous driving hmm but so is the victim ... he will kena too !!

 

lesson learnt .. KEEP YOUR COOL ON THE ROAD and yes its a good investment to have a vid cam on board .. kekekee

there are few guys here using the other types like s4 version from Prides Indonesia ...

s4 or rxz bellypan as other options can do also ...

 

if you are talking about sinnob on P200 15T39 .... with 120/80 tyre ... 120kmph should be no problem at below 9000rpm ... engine stress not likely as pulsar has limiter not to exceed redline 9000km ... once you hit 9000km .. the spark plug will auto shut down to control ur engine from over stress .... but seriously if you want nice and very smooth 120km ... just get bigger bike .. end of the story ... kekeke

Maybe I'm super stupid on this but we have squeezing car and cam car. Squeezing car hogs the road so cam car behind becomes annoyed. How does his windshield water go to the car in front??

 

Or is it that cam car was hogging and squeezing car was tailgating him so he sprayed so his rear windshield water splashes the car behind him? Or is it the front water that is taken by the wind to the car behind?

 

On a bike, lane splitting or overtaking a car cleaning their windshield I get that if the water spray is too powerful it goes beyond the windshield and onto the biker. But if the car is right behind ?

I know someone earlier mentioned.. Ride at 115 for 1 hour, then rest for 15 mins then repeat.. This was on his ride to KL.

 

I thought I could try it, but god damn it, its so hard. After I changed to sinnob, protec coils + yamaha coil, protec air filter - I could cruise at 105 without fear. But for short bursts of time, I have taken it up to 115 to 120, and for overtaking, it can quickly go from 120 to 130+ also. But trust me you dont want to stay there long.

 

I stopped riding to KL and may do it if absolutely necessary. Other times, I take bus and watch movies through the trip.

It's the regular gopro, check it out on amazon - there are so many packages now. The gopro 2 in SG is above $500 sgd..

No need for accessories if you pick the basic package, it has everything needed to use it as a helmet camera,

Anyway, there are other choices of camera @m0bIlEnErD the contour camera is a great contender as well.

The main issue with the gopro is the waterproof casing makes it difficult to battle fog that forms when the camera's battery heats up after long use.

So I'd recommend a camera that does not need a case, and is waterproof by itself..
