3k for a 4 years old 42k km bike.. hope the market stays like this until the NS comes in so Shadow can almost pay for its replacement :cheeky:

That's the asking price, but dont expect someone to pay that much for the pulsar. I have been noticing iceman tring to sell off a similar age pulsar 180 ug3 also for 3k since last 2 months and still unsold. Iceman does lot of marketing, mind you. So yeah 5 years COE left the more reasonable price is 2.5k. Greatmole recently sold his bike for that price :)

Went to do my MACS yesterday, MACS is the Malaysian Automated Clearence System.

http://www.iskandarmalaysia.com.my/os/images/iskandar_office12.jpg

It's a one-page sticker in your Passport that allows you to go through MY customs without having to submit a white card or getting your passport stamped.

http://www.straitstimes.com/STI/STIMEDIA/image/20111028/macsarticle.joharirahmat.jpg

It costs RM30, and is available to Singaporeans, and non-Singaporeans alike, as long as you have a green card.

It's not guaranteed that you will be able to use it at other border crossings though. It is possible that at some border crossings you'll have to revert back to the classic white card and stamp system. And always remember: if you get an entry stamp you MUST get an exit stamp as well, even if you can use MACS to go out.

To me, it's very useful to get rid of the MY stamps as my passport is about the third the thickness of the SG passport.

You will still have to get your passport scanned at the booth. But it's faster, as you get a priority lane. (I'm not too sure yet which lanes these are, if anyone knows please share).

Thanks to the info found on this thread, it was easy breezy.

Here's the full details on how to get yours done as well, by TUAS CHECKPOINT (the thread above has a post that explains how to do it at Woodlands).

(copy of the post I made in the MACS thread)

Hi guys, so here's my little report, and I can confirm that yes if you are non Singaporean living in SG you can still get the MACS.

I got my MACS at Tuas checkpoint, when going back into Singapore, after the MY motorcycle counters, so after I got my regular exit stamp.

Stopped right after the last counter, there's a door on the left with a big MACS CENTER sign at the top of the door frame. You can't miss it.

Leave the bike either on the little pavement in front of the door or a bit further on the exit lane from the counters. (if there's a lot of traffic, obviously park as to not disturb it :))

Go through the door to your left there's a lift, take it to level 2.

Exit the lift, turn right and walk on the little overhead bridge (you can see your bike parked below from there).

Enter the room/building at the end of the little bridge, it has a big MACS sign on it.

Enjoy that familiar breeze of AC that you learn to appreciate when you live in a hot (rich enough) country.

Walk straight to the 3 counters in front of you. The two on the right have a paper poster that says "kauntermacs" or something like this, if you read it in your head you'll know you are in the right place (if you speak Malay, you'll probably think I'm bodoh but that's ok!).

Say hi to the officer behind the counter or hit the little bell to let them know you are here. Hand over your passport, if not Singaporean you will be immediately asked "PR?", take out your green card and hand it over as well (not a PR also can, but must have the green card). Fill a quick form with your particulars. Pay RM30.

Wait in the AC, seated next to your helmet. Get both your index fingerprints taken. Wait a bit, and get your passport, green card, and payment receipt back. (It all took me 10 min.)

Look at your new one page sticker sayin' you will not have to fill a white card or get stamps all over your passport for the next 365 days. Say a little thank you in your head for fellow SBF riders without whom you wouldn't have figured it out. (thanks a lot guys, really!!)

Go back to your bike (that truly no one gives a crap about, people are too busy working or just paying attention to other things rather than plotting to steal it) and ride off feeling happy.

Resist the temptation to u-turn into MY just to test out the MACS.

And voila ! You're done :D

Took some photos for you guys. Didn't see any no camera sign so I suppose it's ok as nothing there that is not public or threatening to security, these are partial photos only and it's impossible to identify any staff. But let me know if you think I better remove them:

View from after the last counter. Door is on the right in this photo, you can see there's plenty of space to park:

Nice info there, I wish this facility was available 2 years ago, when I used to go to JB and top once every 2-3 weeks, until my passport only like 5-6 pages left. :faint:

Also those days, it was illegal to fill RON95. Now times are much better, for JB petrol runners, jealous of you guys :)

I stopped going to JB to top up, since I moved to Tampines and now my mileage per day has reduced to 1/3 although frequency of rides per day has doubled as now I ride home for lunch, thats the advantage of having house 4 kms from office :)

But also since now I got a kid, dont want to take unnecessary risks, trying to keep riding to minimum - home and office thats it.

Ehhh. Correct me if im wrong. But one friendly reminder for those planning to do MACs. Make sure ur passport and other documents needed for u to pass through customs, eg. Work permit. Is valid for another two years before expiry date.

My friend got turned back cos his work permit does not have another 2 years valid. But if u feel like trying, go ahead so i can know if im wrong.

Yeah you are right. But some Singaporeans managed to get it even if their passport has less than 2 years validity left on it. And my green card is valid for less than 2 years now and yet it went through. But my passport is brand new from this month. So maybe they refuse if less than 1 year since that's how long the macs lasts.

Looks great, what brand of paint did you use? Did you put primer and laquer or just the paint? Only one layer? really great work, totally worth it - maybe I can hire your services to reprint parts of my bike when I want to sell it :p

I notice on the photo you are still riding with the stock tyres is that correct? Consider changing to battlax or shinko ASAP please, especially since you pillion someone :)

I think majority of green cards(Work Permits, EPs, S Passes etc) are 1 or 2 years validity. Very few are given 5 year validity AFAIK.

The paint may look like candy red. Best used with a layer of pearl white undercoat as to maximize the candy look. But still it look great.:thumb:
