Erm...Get a Harley? Loud exhaust not necessarily is nice. Those 2 stroke sport bikes also loud exhaust wat. But sounds really bad. Like weak fart. hahah.

just a lame suggestion... dun flame me.

try cutting 10 cm of a small copper pipe about 15mm in diameter and shaft it up the 2 holes in your exhaust pipe. make sure i fits snugly

you even try flattening the ends of the copper pipes to give a deeper bassier tone. not sure if it will increase or decrease power thou.

If you would like to make your stock exhaust sound louder for a bit more music, you can drill a few (about a to 6) 1/4 inch holes in each baffle cap in the back of the pipes.

But I would like to remind you that Honda went to great pains to make sure all the nosie reduction in the stock exhaust did not rob too much power from the engine. That is one reason why you have a big exhaust there because there is a lot of volume inside the exhaust system to quell the sound while allowing the engine to breath a bit.

Not that I want to discourage you, take away that tuned exhaust, and it will sounds better, but runs worse. It is also bad for the engine with its exhaust valves most commonly.

The one consideration you will have is once you dril out the end caps, you really have no idea how the exhaust will sound like. It may just sound like crap! So instead of getting that sweet "boom boom boom" sound you are after, you may get a "piff piff piff" or a tiny "bang bang bang" type of sound. And once the holes are drilled, there is no way of patching them up so, do keep that in mind and drilling out the pipes will change the tune of the engine and diminish performance, if only a little bit that is. Who knows that you may also get some backfiring on trailing throttle (while slowing down with the throttle closed).

My advice is this: appease your macho tendencies with comestic accessories or something, and leave your stock exhaust alone until you are ready to get a whole new system from online shop. Then get a system professionally installed, with a carburetor rejet for maximum performance or get yourself a Harley Davidson but I would not rule out any possibilities getting fine by ROV with that loud exhaust pipe.

Just my two cents worth.

Me too.... need to change front tire....

time for me to replace my front tire.. is there any good Recommendation. for cheap and good tires?

Hopefully the tires for my Shadow Aero is the same as the 400s. I need to change when I come back from my Hong Kong trip, say about 2 weeks time....

Usually, I will advise to change the front tire of the same brand and model as with your rear tire due to the flow of threads. However, I have heard from riders with different combination of front and rear tires running well.

If you people need a recommendation, I suggests Metzeler Marathon for their tight grip but the stock Dunlop is equally good since I have tested this set of tires on a heavy downpour for a good, few hundred kilometers back from Hatyai. Having said, I would still like to remind you people that no matter how good a pair of tires is, nonetheless would still skip if you do not handle your bike properly.

Perhaps you may want to consider carefully in term of touring capabilities compare to Honda Super Four (i.e. fuel tank size, top speed etc). The maintenance for Honda Shadow ACE or Slasher is as simple as with your Honda Super Four. As for the market price for used, you could check out the Yahoo Auction site and SBF Garage section for comparison and take reference before venture out searching at the local motorcycle shops. More information can be obtained via this thread if you start reading from page one unless you want to post specific questions. :)
